The Collapse - (Tens of thousands of years ago)
The Solara and Chaosborn
Tens of thousands of years ago, Solara, an ascended being, crashed into Aganor from a cosmos.
She carried the last remnants of her civilization, their knowledge, souls, and energy, in a gigantic crystal.
Aganor was home to many races, including the Chaosborn, an advanced demonic race skilled in magic.
They wielded Chaos Shards, relics that could drain the lifeforce from any creature, human or orc alike.
Mortal Races
Countless Mortal Races populated Aganor, including humans, orcs, dwarfs, elves, and various subraces. Deprived of Nexarion and thus unable to wield magic, they struggled to resist the demons’ might.
With Chaos Shards empowering the demons to drain lifeforce and rain magical destruction, even the bravest mortal armies fell before ever closing in.
Powerless to counter these sorceries, the mortal races teetered on the brink of annihilation.
Ascention of Xa'reth
As Mortal Races faced extinction, the demons discovered the Solara crystal. Xa'reth, a powerful demon, realized the crystal could allow him to ascend to a deity, bypassing the natural progression of existence.
The other demonic factions and demon lords feared that Xa'reth's ascension would lead to their destruction or total control.
Creation of Darfall Wastes
Despite Xa'reth's loyalist faction's efforts, the demon lords stopped Xa'reth.
The disruption released immense power, causing The Collapse, a massive energy explosion that devastated the continent's center, wiping out almost all life, creating the Darfall Wastes.
This unpassable wasteland separated the surviving demons in the North from the remaining mortal races below.
fterward, the demons that survived above the Wastes remained unaware that mortal races still endured beneath those shattered lands.
Imprisonment of Xa'reth
Xa'reth survived the Collapse and was eventually imprisoned by the surviving demons.
Without access to the lesser Mortal Races as a source of fuel, the demons now feed on Xa'reth, drawing sustenance from the immense energy he gained during his ascension.
Emergence of Life - (Thousands of years ago)
After The Collapse, a life started to emerge back bellow the Darfall Wastes. Humans, orcs, dwarfs and many other races begin to build and rediscover what was once lost.
Formation of the Sunsteel Legion, the paladin order
It was during this emergence, that Amon Dawnblade was guided by unknown being back into Darfall Wastes, where he discovered a sacred ore.
This metal, imbued with unknown powerful magic, was almost impenetrable and the Paladin order was formed, known as the Sunsteel Legion. The being that guided Amon was Solara, eventually becoming a diety of paladin worship and center of their religion.
Discovery of Magic
Later on as humans expanded, the discovery of Velthariel Spire marked the beginning of magical era for humans.
The spire, made out of Nexarion, allowed anybody to master magic near its presence. Eventually, the Aran'Thal order was created, with Eldaron city built around the Spire, becoming the most powerful order in the continent.
Formation of Deadlands - (Hundreds of years ago)
Deadlands, originally know as the Verdan Expanse, was a lush paradise inhabited by diverse dragons like Ashscorn. As human, orc, and dwarven civilizations expanded, they exploited the land, leading to fierce conflicts with the dragon race.
In response, Ashscorn with several other dragons decided to burn the entire Expanse, transforming the vibrant region into the desolate Deadlands. This catastrophic event, know as The Great Conflagration, caused massive destruction, turning dragons into feral Dragnir and making the area hazardous with toxic gases and unstable terrain.
The Deadlands now stand as a stark reminder of the devastating clash between civilization and draconic magic, with Ashscorn rumoured to still dwell deep inside the fiery mountains of Deadlands.
Now
Discovery of Chaos Shard
Eldrin, an ordinary soldier from Windmar, is sent on an expedition to the Darfall Wastes.
When the mission goes disastrously wrong, he survives by discovering an unknown shard that painfully merges with him, bestowing him with immense power.
Building of Graymire
After escaping the Wastes, Eldrin joins the Aran'Thal magical order, where his newfound abilities are harnessed to build Graymire, a city bordering the Deadlands.
However, using the shard's power awakens a dormant force deep within the Deadlands.
