Fhel 24, 2425 - Chapter 2 - Session 14 - Help me Boundless Few, you're my only hope!

The morning was quite and oddly calm. The smoke and distant flames of yesterdays altercation visible in the distance.

Thelara gave a rousing speech of heroism and bravery. The soldiers around us prayed and prepared their armor and weapons.

We got some last minute prep in and Amani somehow blew herself up a little before any fighting took place. If this is a sign of how today was going to go then we need all the Gods' help today.

The sound of metal and gears fill the morning air as we approach the city walls. The sound of blasts start as shot fly overhead as the army charges the gates. The ballistae were manned to the teeth with a hearty crews. We decided to take the chaos unfolding in front of us to try and sneak our way closer to the walls. Not the easiest feat with a giant bear in tow. The portion of the wall we had identified as easier to scale the side. We easily make our way atop the parapet. There was a priest casting some protective incantations over the 3 ballistae. If we can disable them our forces could get to the wall and start placing charges to breach the city. Klackers snuck up to a stack of barrels of pitch and fire and was able to topple it onto the crew manning the ballista in the center of the wall lighting them up in flame. Bruin rushed in to attack the surprised crew head on. Z'ed and Odra quickly dispatched the priest at the back of the wall like a hot knife through butter. Amani summoned her creepy ass thralls to explode in their faces. I had terrible aim as per usual with my bombs. But luckily for me the team was able to carry me through the encounter to success culminating in Odra and Amani yeeting a couple poor bastards off the wall. Next we still had the ballista to worry about. Odra just man handled the damn thing and turned it back in towards the city using their own weapon against them.

We spent some time to recover our stamina and patch up a few wounds before we turned our attention to the next objective the mechanical heart of the city. No sooner had we gotten to the area than loud whistles and alarms started going off signaling our arrival. Z'ed and Amani made their up the iron works and used their magic skills to use their runes against them. They found an divine entity that goes by the regulator who is in charge of keeping the machines going and working properly. Further Amani was able to recollect how these systems were developed and might be able to use that information to turn The Regulator to our uses. Klackers whipped out his disguise kit to try and infiltrate through some bypass tunnels and passages posed as a replacement tech dwarf. We followed close behind using the shadows to cover our steps. MSDOS was able to identify and mimic the syndicate construct sounds and notification sounds so we can pass more easily without arousing notice. MSDOS started interfacing with the regulator and found a deep coded Priority Protocol "Prevent catastrophic overload. Suspend all hostiles not recognized as authorized personnel." With some quick recoding from MSDOS we changed the program to identify Stonekeepers as authorized and change syndicate to unauthorized. As soon as she had finished that all hell broke loose. The system when into overdrive identifying all the workers as now hostile and caused them to freak out and run for their lives. We got to work planting our explosive charges strategically. The blasts went off and chaos erupted as bolts broke and gears tore. The gate crashed open with smoke and steam as an avalanche of troops poor into the city through the breach. Banners waving, shields clashing against swords. The final confrontation is near. Do we have what it will take to emerge victorious?
