Ven 43, 2424 - Chapter 2 - Session 2 - What's in a name? And a Half Elf Hottie!!!

After some back and fourth we decided to call our little group "The Boundless Few". Representing our refusal to be cursed, bound, or kept down even when we have been on deaths door. Now we are a legit adventure party!

After our time helping the town rebuild and rest, Thalara approached us with a group of 3 individuals looking to help (Rask, a dwarf who has a helpful set of skills in espionage and subterfuge, Nellie, a fellow learner of science and alchemy, and Arellya, an edgy cryptic druid). They look like a very capable group that could come in handy setting up camps and taking care of basic needs as we travel.
We talked for a bit with each of them getting a feel for how they could fit into our group and help our cause.
We found Arellya is very passionate about nature and the recent loss the Grove has experienced. She experiences visions and dreams of the spirits of the forest.
After talking to Nellie she is obsessed with the lay lines and how the arcana forces flow through them. I got to pick her brain about crafting and the sciences that interconnect through the arcane. Maybe magic and science aren't necessarily opposites as I thought. I wonder if she's single . . .
Last but not least Rask is a very interesting fella. Very suspicious of everyone. He has some sturdy walls up. I feel he might take a bit more effort to sway him. He survived a brutal battle and was thought dead. He used that fact to his advantage in future fights.
Surprisingly Rask was the first to warm up to us. Bruin beat him in a fierce arm wrestle that tipped the scale to our side. He respected the strength Bruin showed. He offered to give us info on the patrol rotations, and also he would offer to go in with us when we infiltrate the area.
Next Nellie, came around. Klackers assured her she was safer with us against the Syndicate. She also seemed to maybe have a lil thing for me and my impressive mind ;) She offers to come and provide a map of the woods, help us with sabotage tools and help develop a lay line attuned bomb.
Arellya was a little tougher nut to crack. Bruin bonded with her about her faith and their shared love of nature. She offered to come and teach us a rite and help us cover our trail.

Thalara informs us that industry to the south is pushing further north. The trees and woods are being pushed back. Affecting the lay lines and natural order of the Grove. We decided we need to go investigate. First we need to set up a base of operations closer to the area out of sight so we can infiltrate and scope it out. Rask chose to come along and help us. I convinced the group that I will cover the bulk of the cost to bring Nellie along with us. I think she will end up being a very valuable ASSet to our mission. We procure a group from the resistance to help around camp and our caravan sets off away from town headed to the south.
