"I once passed the Tower by moonlight, its stones breathing like a beast half-buried. The earth itself whispered of the one who dwells within—Maelric, the Elf who barters in flesh. His servant of stone, called Stonebrow, watched me from the shadows, and I swear the ground shifted when I met his gaze. Best keep your coin close and your skin closer, for the master of that place deals not in gold, but in the pieces that make you whole."

— From the torn journal of Rhevos the Wayworn

Description

An ancient tower, half-swallowed by moss and stone, stands as a relic of an age long forgotten. Within its halls, the adventurers have stirred two strange denizens from slumber: Stonebrow, a solemn Galeb Duhr bound to the earth, and his peculiar master, Maelric the Elf.

Maelric is no ordinary scholar. Flamboyant in manner yet unsettling in habit, he is a collector of organs and parts—harvesting fragments from all manner of creatures, mortal and otherwise. Whispers claim he fashions these remnants into grotesque abominations, breathing a twisted semblance of life into his creations.

Yet, Maelric does not hoard his art alone. For those daring—or desperate—enough, he offers boons of strange magic, gifts crafted from his dark experiments. The price, however, is steep: not gold, nor jewels, but pieces of yourself.
