This campaign follows the DnD 5e 2014 system with some homebrew to streamline gameplay.
Because this campaign started in 2023, it uses 2014 rules, however several additions have been made from 2024 rules.

These campaigns use the following tools:
LegendKeeper: Hi! You are here! Lore and summaries!
HeroForge: Character Designs.
Improved Initiative: Tracking Initiative during sessions.
Discord: Communication Hub
The DM will assist with tracking inventory, spells and stats, however players are expected to keep track of these things themselves, if you don’t keep track of it, you may have lost it!
As this LegendKeeper serves as Campaign Setting, there will be larger story arcs that cover multiple chapters or smaller storylines. Campaigns typically have no specific level-caps. But it will probably not go beyond level 10. All the campaigns are part of a greater narrative, meaning that a choice in one campaign can affect the others.
Talk to your DM what you'd like to play if you have any difficulties.
When a new campaign or oneshot is established, the DM and players must agree on which system is being used.
Typically it will be based on 2024, with 2014 options if players prefer so.
During character creation, you can choose from all official 5e published options. All races follow their standard rules of the most recent published 5e book (prior to the 2024 revision) but you can discuss earlier variants with your DM.
When choosing from 2014, half races, such as half-elf and half-orc are not available, but that doesn’t mean you cannot play as them, you can choose mixed ancestry for flavor and appearance. The elven and orc abilities are stronger than those of half-elf and half-orc, but you can discuss this topic with your DM.
Simply put, in this setting; 'crossbreeding' is possible between all races, yet the offspring is based on the mother.
Check the Half Races page for some more context.
You can use either ‘standard array’ or ‘point-buy’ to determine your starting ability scores.

You'll start with what's listed in your class description and what your background grants too.
Campaigns in this setting typically begin at level 3. Some one-shots or special adventures may have special rules or limitations. All the options of official sources are available.
However, you must communicate and talk with your DM about your choice, since that this custom setting might not support your choice natively. The DM will always prioritize your choices, but it may require some work beforehand.
Please discuss with your DM beforehand if your chosen class has obvious 'dark' abilities which could clash with other players intended game experience.
Your DM has the right to say no, remember that.
Note:
You cannot use 2024 class rules combined with a 2014 subclass rules.
You cannot use 2014 class rules combined with a 2024 subclass rules.
When you make your character, you will choose a background from official sourcebooks, please be aware of 2014/2024 incompatibilities.
This setting does not endorse multi-classing since there's a variety of players of different skill/knowledge levels of the game. A player can always discuss what direction they want their character to go for their next level up. Which can allow for custom talents, custom abilities or class ability replacements. Many feats such as Magic Initiate or Metamagic Adept fill the niches of other classes.
When your character levels up at the end of a session, they will typically earn spells or class features that were previously discussed. Typically a level up is followed by some downtime or a 'training session'. Sometimes a level-up could be a blessing by an entity.
Out of game, before the start of the next session, when you start with your new level.
You will provide the DM with your wishes/goal for your next level up. This is to allow your choice of spell, feat or class ability to be woven into the story.
Example:
Wizards will announce what spells they would like to take upon their next level up.
Fighters will announce what feat they want to choose upon their next level up.

We won’t keep track of carrying capacity that much. It's a convoluted system that detracts from storytelling. But depending on the situation there might be Athletics checks, and players obviously cannot shove tons of stuff in their pockets.
Sometimes the DM must understand your intentions with a specific action in situations where the character is lying or if it doesn’t match the facts within the world. The DM may ask “Above Game” what a player mean or their intentions, players are expected to give honest answers so that the DM can be consistent with NPC reactions.
Be aware that lying or being ‘vague’ during these "Above Game’ moments
could negatively impact the experience for everyone.
There's a variety of special rules that defer from the default 5e ruleset(s).
