Four characters from old lost stories are being summoned by the mysterious Octave Flutterwing that calls themselves 'The Director' to do his dirty work. Legends Morub, Thordan, Hríd and Belial are tasked with finding a corrupted legend and bring back what he has stolen. Can this unlikely group find their way through a tale of trials and tribulations? And can they uncover what caused this Legend to fall? And who is this mysterious Director?
#001 The Director
Four heroes of lost stories, Hríd, Thordan, Morub, and Belial are summoned by the enigmatic Director Octave Flutterwing to stop a cursed storybook artifact threatening all of reality. Drawn into the village of Townsville, they uncover traces of a cloaked stranger who’s kidnapped a girl named Belinda.
Their search leads through warped landscapes and undead battles to a ruined monastery, where they face The Stranger—once a Legend himself—who seeks to destroy the Director’s endless cycle of summoned Legends. After defeating him and freeing Belinda, the Director offers them a choice: Rest eternally or continue protecting other stories and worlds from the spreading Void. Ultimately, they choose to remain in with the Director on, becoming protectors of stories yet to come.
#002 Carabossa
Two months after their last adventure, the Lost Legends—Hríd, Thordan, Morub, and Belial—are pulled from peaceful pocket dimensions by Director Octave Flutterwing after he detects another dangerous space-time disturbance. During their reunion in the Grand Theater, they investigate corrupted storybooks leaking purple smoke and accidentally summon a fifth legend, Valentine, a prince with shattered memories and lost perfume magic.
Sent into a dark fairy-tale world overrun by undead, they join Captain Adam to battle a witch’s corruption and confront Queen Carabossa, a powerful sorceress who claims the Legends have been deceived by The Custodians. Her words plant seeds of doubt before she vanishes, leaving the group to fight a monstrous mayor. Back on Octave’s stage, he warns of growing corruption and the danger of Carabossa’s Star that bridges worlds, while the shaken heroes begin to suspect their 'director' hides far more than he admits.
#003 Octopus Incursion I
A week after their meeting with Carabossa, the Lost Legends find their rest interrupted by chaos when strange octopuses begin invading their dimensions! Morub discovers one disguised as a bush, Thordan finds another in his pond, and Belial a third near his lavapools. The creatures, seemingly intelligent and even like Legends themselves, are eventually stuffed back into a mysterious LegendKeeper cookbook found in the Grand Theater, releasing a puff of purple smoke.
With Octav missing, the heroes reluctantly follow the trail and step through the book, emerging in a seaside town centered around an odd restaurant. Their meal is cut short when the kitchen erupts into pandemonium—seafood turning monstrous as giant crabs, barnacle-encrusted undead, and a massive octopus attack! After a fierce battle, the shaken cook to reveals the boxes from which the monsters came, originate from a ship called the SS Sandpiper...
#004 Octopus Incursion II
The Lost Legends board the decrepit SS Sandpiper and fight their way through its crew of lizardfolk and undead sailors in a chaotic skirmish across the ship's decks. Their real challenge emerges when a seemingly frail old woman in the captain's cabin reveals herself as a monstrous sea hag, shattering the back half of the ship and summoning reinforcements. Like Carabossa before her, she offers the group freedom and plunder across countless storybook worlds — and like before, they refuse. After a brutal battle, Balile delivers the killing blow and the collapsing ship deposits the heroes back into the Grand Theater library.
Back in the library, the group discovers the recipe book now contains a written account of four mysterious heroes who saved the seaside town, suggesting their actions within the books are actively reshaping the stories. Before they can puzzle this out, a magical letter floats down from above bearing the desperate message "Help me — book, second floor." A door that none of them remember seeing before has appeared in the library...
