Mascardi Berio, a legendary captain and former knight of Lothen, became the first king of the Trident Islands of the Southern Seas. Sent by King Adam Whiteshield to claim the islands for Lothen, Mascardi set sail with a crew of 21. His exploits soon turned him into a living legend—slayer of monsters, explorer of the world’s edge, and a fearless seafarer.
Branded a traitor, he later forged his own kingdom with mercenaries. His crew became infamous among the most feared pirates of Vitallia. After his death, Mascardi's legacy lived on as the first true King of the Southern Seas.
