Shortly after Baron infiltrated the Cantor Array, it became clear that his men had no way out. It was discovered by the Cantor-13 staff that Baron had "purged" hundreds of his original attacking force, leaving only his elite kommando units roughly three dozen strong, not including non-combatants.

The Imperial remnants left behind within the Cantor Array decidedly did not get along with Baron's kommandos, but they were never noted as being openly hostile to one-another.

It is presumed that this event caused several individuals to attempt to defect to the Nation, as many starved to death within the facility otherwise.
