Vineta is the third inhabited planet in the solar system. The homeworld of Humanity and a planet that has been largely buried beneath the waves.

The original birthplace of all who call themselves Eusan. Two-hundred years ago, a woman emerged now-only referred to as the 'Empress,' and she asserted Her will over the many leaders of the various Vinetan states, ushering in a true interstellar age for the people of Vineta.

But even with Her incredible power, to control billions at once was an impossibility; those unbound by Her will fled out of the cities, in to the endless wilds, and raged for their lost autonomy. Thus, She set Vineta to work with the construction and reconfiguration of its greatest urban centers in to the Vinetan Arcologies, several dozen across the entire world, where Her Empire could reign supreme, as its wealth was extracted and optimized for the reformation of Her Empire's new planets. From here, the Empire would spread further in to the stars as a united, singular force, unburdened by history, war, and chaos.

Or it would have. In a single catastrophic instant the Empress was dead, the Empire was fractured, the Nation born, and the solar system ablaze.

And Vineta was to be its frontline.

The Battle of Vineta / The Vinetan War

A catastrophic endeavour between the Eusan states and those who still called themselves Vinetans. Through combat between the Empire and Nation alone, over one-hundred millions lives were lost, scattered across every front and continent. Including the Vinetans, this gets even higher.

Forty years ago, it came to an end. Through some ungodly sabotage of Vineta's Klimate Engines that both sides blame the other for, it was catastrophically drowned, billions dying in mere minutes. Even now the who and how, outside of vague notions of nuclear deployments, are unknown. All evidence is buried beneath the waves.

The Nation thus rules Vineta, but as with the Empire for a century before it, this is only loosely. The Vinetan War has shifted to the Vinetan Compliance: beset endlessly by terror attacks on its supply lines; Imperial remnants in fortified strongholds; and resurgent Vinetan states galvanized, steadily re-industrialising, and reconfiguring themselves to this new state of affairs.
