Bjorn was born not in silence, but in a storm.

On the night his mother brought him into the world, the skies split open above the icy fjords of the Ice Peak Coast. Lightning struck the standing stones outside his village three times, and the clan seers whispered that the storm god had marked the child. His father, Jorund the Red—a feared raider and clan chief—took it as an omen. This boy, he declared, would either lead legends or die chasing them.

Bjorn was raised among warriors. By the age of seven, he could lift a training axe, and before long he had drawn blood in his first clan skirmish. He grew into a towering, broad-shouldered goliath with a wild mane of brown hair and a temper as fierce as the winter sea. Yet Bjorn was more than strong—he was fearless to a fault. He laughed in battle, welcomed pain, and chased glory not for riches, but for a place among the honored dead.

Bjorn earned the name Stormbreaker during a raid that should have been his last.

His clan was returning from a southern voyage when they sailed into a black tempest unlike any seen before. Waves shattered ships, lightning tore the sky apart, and a monstrous sea beast—said by some to have been sent by the gods themselves—rose from the depths and began dragging warriors into the abyss.

While others panicked, Bjorn leapt onto the creature's back.

Armed with nothing but his twin axes, he fought the beast as thunder rolled overhead and lightning crashed around him. With a final roar, he drove both axes deep into its skull at the exact moment a bolt of lightning struck. The beast died instantly, but the blast hurled Bjorn into the sea.

Days later, he awoke alone on a distant shore.

His twin axes lay beside him, their blades etched with faint glowing runes that had not been there before. Since that day, lightning seems to answer his fury, crackling along his strikes and dancing across the steel when battle is near.

Though hailed as a hero, Bjorn's growing power unsettled his clan. The seers warned that he walked too close to the will of the gods, and that such gifts always demand a price.

Their fears seemed justified when, during a feast, Bjorn lost himself in a rage-fueled duel and accidentally slew a fellow clansman.

The clan's judgment was swift.

He was exiled.

Not as punishment, the seers insisted, but as prophecy.

Now Bjorn Stormbreaker wanders the Sword Coast searching for answers. He seeks the truth behind the storm's mark upon him, enemies worthy of testing his strength, and a fate grand enough to earn a place in legend.

Whether he is destined to become a champion of the storm god—or merely another fool destroyed by powers beyond his understanding—remains to be seen.

For now, the road has led him toward the frontier town of Phandalin, where destiny may finally be waiting.
