Vaerun is the sun of the Veyrath System. From the sun outward, its seven major planets are Caldris, Istran, Veyrath, Orveth, Tharos, Nevran, and Ulmar, with the Cinder Belt and Outer Drift forming broad regions of smaller bodies. Veyrath’s two moons are Lethra and Namar; their mean phase cycles last 25 and 90 local days respectively.
Veyrath lies in the Norma Arm of the Milky Way. Its local day lasts 24 standard hours, and the Baraldic local year contains 250 days, equivalent to about 0.68456 Cycles. Lethra and the more distant Namar continue through their 25-day and 90-day mean phase cycles without resetting at the beginning of a local year.
Measured against the developmental framework used by the wider interstellar community, Veyrath's present surface civilizations fall within Tier 0, the Cradle Stage. They have no permanent, independently sustained offworld populations or practical interstellar FTL transport.
This describes the capabilities of the societies now living on the world. Their ancestry does not supply institutions, infrastructure or transport that those societies do not presently possess. Veyrath remains isolated from the wider interstellar community.
