A region may contain many locations, settlements and dangers of its own. Some are well known, while others may exist only as names on an old map or stories brought back by travellers.
Distance means something different in the wasteland.
Roads have collapsed, tunnels have flooded, bridges have fallen and old routes may now pass through dangerous or contested territory. A journey that once took less than an hour can become an expedition.
The further we travel from familiar ground, the less reliable our knowledge becomes.
