The Church Pacts of Ederia
While the Churches of Ederia remain independent of the crown, they are granted specific freedoms and authorities as decreed by the reigning monarch. Each new ruler may choose to honor, embolden, or revoke these pacts, shaping the balance of faith and governance across the kingdom. These decrees allow churches to act beyond the constraints of the nobility, ensuring that their influence extends into law, military action, and societal oversight.
The Church of the Broken Sun
The Edict of Vigilance (King Alistar Draven's Edict after the Calamity)
"By royal decree of King Alistar Draven, First of His Name, Protector of the Realm and Guardian Against the Void, this Edict of Vigilance is hereby established in the year 1015 AR, following the Calamity of Broken Dawn:
The Church of the Broken Sun is granted extraordinary authority to identify, investigate, and contain any threat of corruption or darkness that may seek to exploit the fractured sky. Their Solar Champions and Radiant Casters shall serve as the first line of defense against such malevolence.
The High Solar and their appointed officers may, at their discretion:
I. Quarantine any individual, structure, or area suspected of harboring corruption from the Void or Kython influence, regardless of rank or station.
II. Override local authorities when matters of corruption are concerned.
III. Requisition necessary resources to combat darkness, with fair compensation to be determined after the threat is neutralized.
IV. Detain individuals for questioning regarding matters of corruption for a period not to exceed fourteen days without formal charges.
This authority is granted with the understanding that it shall be wielded with wisdom and restraint, for the protection of all Ederia. The Church shall submit quarterly reports to the Crown detailing all actions taken under this Edict.
Let all who serve the light stand vigilant against the shadows that would consume us.

Authority to Stop & Search – Members of the Cleansing Tempest may halt any caravan traveling through Ederia in search of necromantic artifacts or Crimson sympathizers.
Authority to Investigate Property – They may inspect homes, estates, and lands if given a warrant by a magistrate of the Church of Unity.
Mandate of Vigilance – The Church may deploy inquisitors, knights, and priests to pursue rumors of necromancy, blasphemy, and treason without noble intervention.
