House Tharashk — Services & Prices
"We are hunters in a world of tribex."
Mark: Finding | Guild: Finders Guild | Symbol: The Dragonne
House Tharashk's commercial identity is built on a single proposition: they find things. People, objects, mineral deposits, fugitives, aberrations, information — wherever something is hidden or lost, the Mark of Finding is the most reliable instrument for recovering it. The Finders Guild organizes this capability through a loose network of independent inquisitive agencies whose dragonmarked heirs take the most difficult cases while unmarked agents handle the rest.
Prices listed below are standard rates from Sharn and major enclaves. Terrain danger, counter-divination, political sensitivity, and target hostility all affect final cost. A job in the upper wards of Sharn costs considerably less than the same work in the swamps of Q'barra or the streets of Graywall.
From a Finders Guild contract template, standard issue:
"The Guild accepts no liability for failure resulting from active interference by a second dragonmarked house. Kundarak wards, Medani counterintelligence, and Phiarlan misdirection are acknowledged hazards of the profession and are billed as complications, not failures."
I. Inquisitive & Tracking Services
When you need to know why something happened, hire Medani. When you need to know where someone went, hire Tharashk. This distinction defines the guild's niche.
Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
Locate Object | Magical location of a known item | 60 gp |
Locate Creature | Tracks an identified individual | 280 gp |
Discern Location | Precise planar location | 1,200 gp |
Missing person investigation | Physical tracking focus | 100–300 gp |
Trail sense / pattern tracking | Movement and habit mapping | 20 gp/day |
Escape route reconstruction | Likely flight paths from a scene | 60–150 gp |
Kundarak wards, planar interference, or counter-divination complicate service and increase cost.
II. Bounty & Recovery Operations
Tharashk defaults to living delivery where contracts are ambiguous — a professional distinction the house maintains with some pride, and one that separates its bounty hunters from back-alley thugs. The house does not guarantee delivery against active Deneith Sentinel Marshal jurisdiction without prior coordination; stepping on Deneith's legal authority is a fast way to escalate the rivalry from covert sabotage to open confrontation.
Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
Fugitive recovery (living) | Capture and delivery | 100–500 gp + expenses |
Fugitive recovery (dead) | Proof-based completion | 75–300 gp |
Cross-border pursuit | Extended jurisdiction | 250–800 gp |
Asset recovery | Stolen goods or lost property | 10–30% of assessed value |
Monster bounty | Specific creature threat | 150–1,000 gp |
Corpse retrieval | Battlefield or ruin recovery | 50–200 gp |
III. Prospecting & Dragonshard Services
The prospector's wand allows bearers to specify mineral type and minimum concentration within a thirty-foot radius sphere — a precision unavailable through any comparable divination. An independent prospector with locate object knows something is nearby. A marked heir with a prospector's wand knows there are at least three pounds of refined-grade Eberron dragonshards within range, and exactly which direction to dig. That distinction is the economic backbone of the house.
Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
Dragonshard survey (basic) | Identifies presence and surface indicators | 75–80 gp |
Dragonshard survey (deep vein) | Locates veins, assesses density | 200–500 gp |
Ore vein mapping | Geological and magical assessment | 60 gp/day |
Extraction team deployment | Labor, guards, oversight | 150 gp/day |
Monster-clearing contract | Secures dig sites | 200–800 gp |
Resource claim verification | Confirms legal legitimacy | 50 gp |
Tharashk coordinates refinement with House Cannith and claim security with House Kundarak. Shadow Marches work is priced lower and considerably more dangerous. Operations near known aberration sites may be declined or substantially surcharged.
IV. Guide & Expedition Services
Better rates and more experienced guides are found at the Clifftop enclave in Upper Dura, not the grand hall in Dragon Towers — a fact the house's marketing materials carefully omit.
Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
Tharashk guide to Xen'drik (unmarked) | Navigation and field experience | 1 gp/day |
Tharashk guide to Xen'drik (Least Mark) | Magical tracking and pathfinding | 3 gp/day |
Swamp or jungle guide | Shadow Marches, Q'barra | 10–20 gp/day |
Expedition escort (hostile terrain) | Caravan or party escort | 40–100 gp/day |
City guide (ordinary) | Urban navigation and contacts | 1 sp/day |
City guide (escort) | Personal accompaniment and security | 25 sp/day |
V. Droaam & Monstrous Labor Brokerage
The Dragonne's Roar is not a mercenary company — it is a labor brokerage. The majority of Tharashk-brokered workers in a city like Sharn are performing nonviolent services: ogre construction crews, gargoyle couriers, gnoll sentries. The house takes pride in the civilizing effect of this work. Every ogre laying foundation stones in Fairhaven is proof, in the Aashta's view, that the peoples of Droaam deserve a seat at Khorvaire's table.
Service | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
Gargoyle message delivery (Sharn) | Letter or small package, cross-city | 5 gp |
Ogre labor contract | Heavy labor, construction, portage | Negotiated |
Droaam trade escort | Caravan passage through Droaam | 90 gp/day |
Monstrous mercenary contract | Gnoll, grung, or centaur units | Negotiated |
Droaam cultural consultation | Mediation and customs advisory | 20 gp/day |
Frontier security audit | Threat assessment for settlements | 60 gp |
Tharashk-brokered workers are under contract to the house, not to the client. Anti-petrification protocols are standard for any contract involving medusa-adjacent personnel.
VI. Dragonmarked Hirelings
Hireling Type | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
Tracker (unmarked) | Skilled hunter or wilderness scout | 6 gp/day |
Tharashk tracker (Least Mark) | Basic mark use, directional tracking | 18–25 gp/day |

Graffiti scratched into the wall of Kurt Karr'Aashta's Investigations, Deathsgate:
"You can run to the Cogs. You can run to the Reaches. You can run to Xen'drik and hide in a ruin that hasn't seen light in forty thousand years. We'll still find you. That's what the mark is for."
