An Elven Encounter

While journeying through the mountains the party will be ambushed by a group of elven archers from Thalen Vor. They have been tracking orcs in the area and attack the party by mistake.

Arrows fly for a moment before the leader of the elves, a ranger by the name of Fae Merin, will call off the attack.

She will talk to the party but be very suspicious of them. None but orcs roam these mountains now, orcs and their agents of course.

Conversation

  • She was sent by her elders to scout and report on a large force of the orcs just north of The Throat. Such gathering of orcs are rare and the elves wanted to be sure the orcs would not turn south towards their lands

  • They know of the attack on Khaz Narak and care little for the fate of the dwarves

  • If they are told about the movement of the orc army they will thank the party of the information and resolve to withdraw to the south out of the path.

  • Fae will speak to the party quietly, out of ear shot of her fellew elves. She will ask whether the party came accross a Red Orc by the name of Vorric. She volunteered for the misson upon hearing of it.

  • If she learn the red orc is dead she will have a strange look on her face and say, then the demon is loose once again. If pressed she will reveal the name of the spirit that inhabited Vorric, a malevolent spirit by the name of Tavren.
