Raised in the great City of Avanar, only son to a merchant (human) specialising in exotic items and paraphernalia. He did this work for about 35 years for his father, briefly completely overtaking the business. After the overtaking of the trade from the Open hand, he and his father fell into poverty. He stole and scavenged as much as he could, eventually being employed by the adventurer’s league as a smuggler, getting items past borders for their operations in the frontier. During one of these smuggling attempts his arm got gravely wounded, to the point it had to be amputated. He is now retired as an adventurer, but is using his vast collection of items to fund his travels, and as an excuse to meet fellow adventurers.
Along with Naziir came a Kobold named Dinky. initially purchased as a slave to cool him down during a heatwave, he eventually became the closest thing he had to a friend. After leaving the Isles of Tychis, Dinky went along with Naziir to the capital city of Avanar for several years to learn the trade. Now Dinky, while working under Battuta, has taken on many responsibilities, including procuring new magical Items. His grasp on the common language is still less than proficient, but he has quickly become one of the most respected merchants in the Emirates.
Although Naziir ibn Battuta has fathered many children, he is one to play favorites. He had a son with a tabaxi woman some years ago, who he has now taken as a protigé: Alfahd Ibn Battuta.
A Tabaxi, and a thief of some renown. He had been a street rat for many years, attempting to get by and save for a rainy day. At some time during his teenage years a strange man claiming to be his father came into his life. At first he was hesitant, but he quickly learned the strange half-elf cared much for him. Now, after some years, they are business partners. With Naziir aging he has taken a more administrative role in the company, and Alfahd has become the face of the business, taking daring expeditions into the unknown.
