Dreamers are the result of an oddity of birth and circumstance, born only to families with lines hailing from Nebalich in Seshar. Each Dreamer is connected to alien spirits called 'rosha' that exist in a shimmering pool deep within the guarded castles of Nebalich.

Dreamers can’t directly communicate with their rosha spirits. Rather, they might experience this relationship as a sense of instinct and inspiration, drawing on the memories of the spirit when they dream. This connection grants Dreamers minor psionic abilities, as well as protection from psychic attacks. All of these rosha spirits seem virtuous, but some are warriors and others are more contemplative.

While not all Dreamers are born in Nebalich they often feel a draw to visit the pool at least once in their lives. It is said by those that do the visions they receive when submerged are awe inspiring and open the mind to the highest form of enlightenment. For a non Dreamers to enter the water would mean madness or death as they lack this inherent connection.
