Prime Water- 1st Floor

Grand Hall

An airy hall of stone and leaded glass, washed in soft light. Polished floors and fine furnishings quietly display the Primewater wealth. To the north lies the great dining hall; to the south, broad doors open onto terraced grounds overlooking Saltmarsh Bay.

Parlor

Image

A comfortable receiving room of couches and upholstered chairs beneath tall stained-glass windows, their colored light softening the stone walls. Painted nautical scenes hint at the family’s ties to the sea. A wide doorway to the north opens into the dining hall.

Visiting characters are escorted here by Valblücher to meet Gellan or his wife. During gatherings and formal events, the room serves as the mansion’s primary parlor for guests.

Dining Hall

Image

A grand hall built for feasts and negotiations, seating up to twenty. Two long tables stand before a broad stone fireplace, while a raised table rests in an alcove at the far end. Nautical paintings and ship models line the walls, underscoring the Primewaters’ bond to the sea.

When hosting captains and trade partners, Gellan seats himself at the raised alcove table. During civic gatherings, he joins his guests at the long tables, leaving the alcove empty—a subtle reminder of where authority rests.

Kitchen & Pantry

Immaculate and well stocked, the kitchen runs with naval precision. Shelves brim with fresh ingredients, cookware hangs in perfect order, and a large hearth burns day and night. A kitchen maid moves quietly through her duties, keeping the space warm and ever ready.

Valblücher is often here, supervising with a sharp eye. The staff work under strict discipline, and the room reflects the Primewaters’ demand for efficiency, order, and control.

Stable

A large, tidy stable with clean stalls, fresh straw, and neatly hung tack. Built for several horses and a carriage, though rarely filled to capacity.

One or two horses and the family carriage are kept here. A stable hand tends the animals by day. At night, the doors are locked, with periodic rounds to ensure all is secure.

Crane Quay

Image

A towering crane rises above stone docks fifty feet below, the finest hoist in Saltmarsh and clearly visible from the mansion’s grand hall. Broad steps descend to the quay. When a Primewater ship is in port, the platform hums with activity as crates and barrels are lifted from hold to shore—fine wines and select cargo handled here rather than at the public docks.

The crane swivels smoothly, built to haul heavy loads straight from a ship’s hold. Gellan’s two merchant vessels use this quay for valuable or discreet shipments—mostly wine and ale, with occasional specialty goods.

A hidden lift from the smuggler tunnels below allows contraband to be raised under cover of legitimate trade.

Old Bren oversees operations, usually at the controls or patrolling the docks. A guard is always posted near the crane and along the quay, watching for trouble or prying eyes.
