Motto

“Strength in steel, victory in resolve.”

The Iron Talons supply heavy infantry, siege engineers, and battlefield commanders. Nobles, armies, and adventuring parties hire them for assaults, fortifications, prolonged campaigns, and difficult dungeon expeditions.

Heavy armor and siege weapons are central to their work. Their strict discipline extends to punishment: betrayal or cowardice can mean expulsion, or execution in extreme cases.

Breach or defend fortifications and reinforce contracted forces.
Combine heavy troops with siege engineering and coordinated tactics.

Commander Varnus Stonefist approves contracts and directs the guild. Siege Marshals plan major assaults; Talon Warriors lead smaller engagements and assist with war machines.

Commander — Oversees operations, approves contracts, and leads in wartime. His decisions are binding within the Iron Keep.
Siege Marshals — Plan major assaults and teach advanced combat and siege techniques.
Talon Warriors — Full members who have completed a major battle or siege.
Iron Initiates — Train and assist veterans with siege preparations and battlefield operations.

Sieges — Build, maintain, and deploy trebuchets, battering rams, and fortified war wagons.
Heavy reinforcement — Hold lines, attack fortresses, and support dungeon expeditions.
Training — Drill heavy infantry, engineers, and tactical commanders.

Train new siege engineers and commanders for Altoria’s defense.
Seek noble-house contracts for the upcoming Siege of Stormguard.
Build more mobile, magic-resistant siege machines for an anticipated arcane conflict.

Establish outposts in strategic cities and fortresses across Imperion.
Form a permanent Iron Legion and teach siege warfare to other armies and guilds.

Fighters, barbarians, and paladins join alongside engineers, smiths, and tactical specialists. Recruits must withstand heavy combat and long campaigns, and the guild demands obedience and loyalty.

Prove strength, stamina, and loyalty through training.
Take the Steel Oath and receive the guild’s branded fist mark.
Complete a major battle or siege to become a Talon Warrior.

Training in siege warfare, heavy weapons, and battlefield tactics.
Access to war machines, armor, weapons, and the Iron Keep’s magical defenses.
Paid contracts with noble houses, armies, and adventuring parties.

Honor contracts and maintain discipline in battle.
Train continuously in personal combat and siege tactics.
Betrayal or cowardice is punishable by expulsion or, in extreme cases, execution.

Steel Oath — Recruits swear loyalty before the great anvil in the Hall of Steel and receive a branded fist mark.
Siege Trial — Before major engagements, members construct and deploy siege engines in a mock assault or defense.
Iron Feast — After a victory, members feast in the Keep and display captured banners and fragments of enemy siege weapons.

Varnus Stonefist — A calculating commander and siege tactician who favors concentrated force.
Kara “The Boulder” Hammerfell — A frontline warrior who holds her ground and breaks enemy lines with a massive warhammer.
Roderic Ironhand — An engineer who designs and deploys reinforced trebuchets and mobile battering rams.

Shieldwall Company — provides defensive formations alongside the Talons’ assaults during long campaigns.
Iron Bondsmen — joins contracts needing force and tactical coordination, despite its more ruthless methods.
Crimson Gauntlet — competes for military contracts and uses brutal, less disciplined methods.
Way of Iron — favors duels over siege engines and numbers, sometimes challenging Talons contracts through individual combat.

The Iron Keep in the Ironclad Ward has fortified walls, training grounds, armories, and siege workshops. Banners of noble clients hang on its walls.

Members receive briefings and plan contracts in the Hall of Steel.

History

War veterans founded the Iron Talons over a century ago after becoming disillusioned with undisciplined mercenary work. They built the guild around siege warfare, loyalty, and military precision.
