Overview

Wynn Vale is a fertile province in mid-northern Eirendor, ruled by House Brennan. It is a land of farmland and pasture pressed up against ancient forest and steep mountains, a crossroads where the settled lowlands meet the wild north.

Geography

The Vale is a belt of fertile farmland and pasture, hemmed to the west by the Clannmor Peaks and giving way to ancient woodland at its edges. Rivers and old roads thread the lowlands, linking the market town of Gunnhildr with the quieter, autumn-touched settlement of Caerwyn. Nearby lie the tangled woods of Crannfuil Hollow, whose shadowed clearings and hidden paths are said to open onto the Otherworld, while the Clannmor Peaks rise steep and cold to the west, their old mines, among them Dubhrach Depths, cut deep into the stone.

Life and Rule

Wynn Vale answers to House Brennan and lives by its farms. Its people are farmers, herders, and artisans, bound to the harvest and the turning seasons, and they keep the old rites of the Tuatha of the Sacred Grove, chiefly Brighan the Earth Mother and Lugh of the forge.

Life centers on Gunnhildr, a town of about a thousand under Mayor Toran MacRaithe, where storytelling on Brannach Hill and the weekly market at the Meadow Exchange hold the community together. The Vale has long been a crossroads between the settled lowlands and the wild north, and its farms, forests, and mountain passes each carry their own share of trade and danger, from bandits off the wilderness to older things stirring in the peaks and the deep woods.
