(Upbeat lute and drumbeat start — think tavern storytelling style, half spoken, half sung.)

Gather ye round and I'll tell you the tale,
Of the Shadows of Ash and their monstrous travail!
Where goblets were raised and mythic points spent,
And destiny tangled in chaos unbent.
Verse 1: Nuggets, Mythics, and Madness
Before sword met fang or spell met shield,
We debated McNuggets and mythic yields.
Three points to spend! (Or squander in jest.)
And none thought chess was the deadliest test.
Verse 2: Gambling and Grit
To the tables they strode, with fortunes to seek,
Vasuki and Kirk made the gamblers look weak.
Kalulah? A different kind of lucky she proved—
Let’s just say the odds...definitely moved.
NPCs cheated, the players out-cheated—
In the end, dignity? Defeated.
Verse 3: Gargoyles and Grace
High in the attic, where dust ruled the gloom,
Lay stone-hearted gargoyles pretending to loom.
With honeyed words and a desperate wink,
They kept their heads—and didn’t sink.
(Important papers? None were found.
Unless you’re fond of moldy gowns.)
Verse 4: A Sip for the Bloodsuckers
On the third floor, a door was knocked,
And vampires answered, hungry and shocked.
Cantus bled freely into a goblet fine,
Buying secrets with the cost of his spine.
The plot revealed: Grimshank the prize,
To swear dark fealty 'neath velvet lies.
Verse 5: The Hallway of Doom
Kirk stepped through a door—and vanished from sight!
Magic hallways shuffled wrong from right.
Ropes were thrown, chaos reigned,
Scooby-Doo logic barely explained.
Lesson learned? When magic doors groan,
Always, always prop them with stone.
Verse 6: Ghosts Form a Union (Somehow)
Meanwhile, Cantus spun violin songs,
To ghosts who preferred chairs thrown along.
"Let’s unionize!" was the bard’s decree,
But dead knights just howled, "Let’s murder, not plea!"
Verse 7: Ravens Rally
In a tower where ravens roost and dream,
Kalulah befriended a feathery team.
Smarter than nobles and less prone to bite,
They cawed out omens of coming night.
Verse 8: Vampiric Intrigues and Ogre Dreams
The vampires' scheme came clear in the gloom:
Chain poor Grimshank to a blood-drenched doom.
But Grimshank's heart? Not conquest or fame—
He longed for peace, respect, and a name.
Verse 9: Ghostly Negotiations and Bad Real Estate
Upstairs, Vasuki and Cantus implored,
“Don’t kill the ogre! He’ll haunt you more!”
The ghosts considered... then hurled a chair,
Apparently unconvinced by earnest care.
Verse 10: Gardens, Gossip, and Grim Plans
Down to the gardens the party did flee,
Plotting rumors with urgent glee.
Spread the truth with a whisper thin:
The vampires don't want allies—only to win.
Verse 11: Thrynnara’s Warning
The hag spoke true: fracture the feast,
Expose the fangs of man and beast.
Undermine pride, flatter with care,
And never, never corner a bear.
Verse 12: Masks, Mischief, and Mortal Fears
Masked and merry, the ball wore on,
Teleport doors and magic gone wrong.
Linnolaithe, bold, approached the hags—
Offended them all with jokes and gags.
Another heroic success...ish.
Final Verse: Shadows of Ash Escalate
The hall grows tense, alliances thin,
The Shadows of Ash prepare to spin:
Spread their rumors, play their part,
Win Grimshank’s loyalty—
Or lose their hearts.
