The Blightsteel Dominion is a faction revered by many of the citizens of the Gearspire Bastion. Locals are intrigued by the Dominion’s relentless pursuit of technological advancement, which promises to push society toward perfection. Many view them as pioneers of innovation, and advertisement campaigns touting the benefits of clockwork enhancements have improved their reputation even further. Despite their positive reputation, whispers of the dark side of their operations circulate quietly among the more suspicious.
The Dominion honors Ingenos, god of technology and craftsmanship, believing that their ultimate goal of clockwork perfection aligns with his divine will.
The faction's aims and principles, and what they are doing to achieve them.
The Blighsteel Dominion is focused on unlocking the secrest of Ingenos, long lost god of technology and craftsmanship, who is rumoured to be buried deep within the dungeons below Umbral Haven.
Their ultimate goal is to enhance humanoid life by merging it with clockwork technology, creating what they believe to be the ultimate lifeforms.
In pursuit of these goals, the Dominion frequently organises trips that delve into the ruins below Umbral Haven, using what they find to further enhance and expand their clockwork augmentations. Those with augmentations are often recruited into the Blightsteel Watch, who aid the Dominion in keeping the Gearspire Bastion in check and warding off the The Infernal Inquisition.

Though existing long before it, the Blightsteel Dominion had its rebirth out of the ashes of the Boiling Plague, a devestating event that occured less than a decade ago. The plague wiped out what was once the Aridus Desert (now the The Blighted Sunscape), including the once prosperous city of Mirage Haven. The Elves of the Dominion saw the remaining population struggle to survive and rose to power.
The Dominion's leadership consists of a council of Elves, all of whom witnessed the horrors of the Plague. Experiencing the failure of natural and magical medicine, they turned to innovation, believing the answer to lie within clockwork technology. Clockwork augmentation is what the Dominion believes to be the key to surviving another natural disaster the size of the Boiling Plague.
In the name of innovation the Dominion started construction on the Gearspire Bastion, aided by Leshy servants and the remaining population. They fortified the city and filled it with factories, clockwork laboratories, and the Mechadome, turning the city into a developing metropolis and establishing them as the dominant force in the region.
The Blightsteel Watch, a sub-faction of the Dominion, not only protect the city, they have also been recruiting augmented soldiers in pursuit of Ingenos, a deity of craftmanship and technology, who's body is rumoured to be buried deep below the Mirage Haven Ruins. The Dominion believes that by awakening Ingenos and utilising the technology deep within the ruins, they will be able to achieve the ultimate life form of clockwork augmentation.
Though viewed favourably by the public, some whisper of the Dominion's dark side. Adventurers and explorers sent on dangerous missions deep below the surface, returning irrevocably changed if at all. Experimentation and clockwork augmentation on unwilling subjects. And explotation of the nearby Orc and Gnoll tribes within their army ranks. Despite these whispers the Dominion's pursuit of perfection outweighs all obstacles, and they will stop at nothing to achieve their vision of the future.
