Thurl, the catfolk thaumaturge meets the group, and is met by lots of cat-related jokes. The party learns Thurl came to speak to elder Verdan, he resumes his mission by joining with Lennox and helps translate the notes found in the underground lab. Thurl also receives a tattoo from Dylle mere moments after meeting him. The first note describes the underground lab, and gives some information about the fiery fox-like creature the party defeated earlier. The second note talks about the god of fear, a dog and ice. The group spends some time pondering what it could all mean. Thurl and Lennox discuss the meaning and possibilities of the old gods potentially being involved with whatever is going on, meanwhile Viktor and Dylle think about how they can find a dragon. There might be a patch of unnatural darkness somewhere in the woods, Suiya tells the group that the orcs might know more about the magical darkness and it's whereabouts. Suiya also requests the party bring a sample of the evil-darkness-ice dog if able. The party sets out towards the orcs, they find a giant crow who speaks common on the way, they trade some shinies for some magical equipment. Some raccoons steal our rations. A fortune effect to the next attempt to sense direction is received.
