The session started with Malum stating that he thinks the snake-eyed people are suspicious. We all came together at Caillte’s shop where Zygomatic made things awkward by saying things shouldn’t become awkward, and discussed what to do about the potential kidnapping of the kid from Malum’s vision.

Then we went to the carnival, where Phobia peed against a green tent that he probably thought was grass. Through some Perceiving of the carnival goers we learned that the people who disappeared previously had been seen talking to people with slitted eyes (the snake-eyed people) and decided that we needed to solve the entire mystery instead of just trying to keep the kid from being kidnapped. We figured we should start by talking to the tengu running this carnival, and Caillte was volunteered by the rest of the party to do talk to an orc bartender to learn more about the tengus’ habits.

There he learned about the Hall of Mirrors and the fire show that would be happening later, at which the leader of the carnival, Black Feather, was definitely going to be in attendance. We decided to first see the Hall of Mirrors, where Malum went inside first. He had to sign a liability form and did so (with his real name, which turned out to be Malum). After some signaling, Caillte and Zygomatic also went into the Hall of Mirrors, while Nuhlra stayed outside to observe those coming in and out.

Malum intimidated a employee of the Hall of Mirrors into giving him documents with the names of every guest that went inside, learning that the kid we’re trying to protect is named Brad. Zygomatic found a slitted-eye man on a “date” with a woman and followed them outside, where they confronted the pair. Neither of them were very excited about this, and when Malum learned about this action from Nuhlra, he wasn’t either. He followed Zygomatic, but not before introducing Nuhlra to his childhood friend Rascal, commanding her to “report to Nuhlra”. Rascal and Nuhlra bonded for a moment about being forced to care about Brad, before Rascal promptly tried to unsuccessfully rob Nuhlra.

Back at the “couple”, Malum had Phobia piss against the man’s pants, but he did not have a strong reaction to that at all. Annoyed by the situation, Zygomatic decided to come clean about their intentions in following the pair—first not coming across very convincing but ultimately pissing off the man enough for him to reveal himself to be a devil (and definitely intending to kidnap the woman). A fight ensued. Some highlights:

• Zygomatic had holy shit going on and so the devil took many owies

• Phobia demoralized the devil so he was now scared of piss-dog

• Zygomatic went down; Nuhlra healed them back up with Treat Wounds, and Caillte helped them stop the bleeding

• Malum almost set a bunch of tents on fire but decided against it
