Each month, 1d4 camp followers show up. They require 1 gp a month, otherwise they’ll leave. There must be one employed mercenary for each six camp followers, otherwise there is a chance of trouble.
Scrob Troke the “freak” - deformed in some amusing way. Quite intelligent and a loyal friend, given time.
Squist the gambler- always cheerful, tells amusing tales. Usually broke, sometimes affluent.
There is a 5-in-6 chance of trouble each month, reduced by 1 for each employed mercenary who is proven and each two who are not, to a minimum of 1-in-6. Unpaid mercenaries or too many camp followers increase the chance of trouble, each group by 1.
