Description
The Pyianna Forest is used to interchangeably refer to the large swath of forest the wood elves occupy in western Ardenvast and to the elven kingdom which occupies that land. This isolationist kingdom is known for being fiercely territorial, tolerating outsiders only on the far edges of the forest for limited trade. Little is known about the deeper workings of the forest kingdom, but rumors speak of high magic and natural wonders.

Pyianna is divided into a multitude of regions, each of which is headed by a Noble. The Nobles govern their own regions largely autonomously, but answer to The Forest Monarch, who steps in to mediate when inter-regional disputes arise, and ensures elven traditions are upheld.
The Pyianna Forest's border is fiercely guarded by scouts. These individuals are trained at stealth, most wielding longbows and dealing with threats from a distance, taking out trespassers before they even know they have company. Only traders are permitted along the outskirts, and even then, any violation of the forest is an intolerable offense.
Pyianna is religiously diverse and polytheistic. The Oblivious Pantheon, The Harmonic Pantheon, The Elemental Pantheon, The Olympic Pantheon are among those popularly worshipped, as the elves see these pantheons as tied closely to the natural world they spend their lives surrounded by. In contrast, it is considered sacrilegious to pay respects to The Shaded Pantheon and Fiends.
Pyianna is almost entirely dense woodlands, only a few sizable clearings near the coast. The region is temperate, with the northern regions experiencing winter snowfall.
