The Divine Order

Overview:
The Divine Order is a militant organization dedicated to eradicating the Sourceweavers and all traces of their influence. Founded on principles of justice, order, and unwavering resolve, the group views the Sourceweavers as a corrupting force that threatens the stability of the world. Though still smaller in size compared to other factions, such as the Magisters, the Divine Order’s relentless campaigns and growing influence have made it a force to be reckoned with.

Under the leadership of Dallis The Hammer, the Divine Order operates with strict discipline and absolute conviction, tolerating no dissent or hesitation within its ranks. Members of the Order are driven by a shared belief that they are the last bastion standing between the world and chaos, making them fiercely loyal to their cause, and to their leader.

Structure:
The Divine Order is organized into three main branches:

  • The Vanguard: The Order’s frontline warriors, tasked with executing raids and purging Sourceweaver enclaves. They are known for their heavy armor, blunt weapons, and unwavering courage.

  • The Sanctum: A group of clerics and paladins responsible for maintaining the Order’s spiritual integrity and healing its members. They also act as moral enforcers, ensuring that the Order remains focused on its mission.

  • The Inquisition: Investigators and interrogators who root out Sourceweavers and their sympathizers, often working covertly. They are feared for their unrelenting methods and ruthless efficiency.

Philosophy and Beliefs:
The Divine Order believes in absolute justice, where no crime goes unpunished, and no threat to the world’s stability is tolerated. To them, Sourceweavers embody chaos and destruction, whether intentional or accidental. The group views magic such as grand as source spells as a tool that corrupts the mind and soul, and while they do not outright ban its use within their ranks, they impose strict oversight and severe limitations on its practice.

Methods:
The Divine Order is known for its uncompromising and often brutal methods. Raids on Sourceweaver enclaves, public trials, and swift executions are common tactics used to demonstrate their resolve. They rely on overwhelming force and fear to maintain their dominance and ensure compliance. Despite their militant nature, the Order does make use of diplomacy, but only when it serves their goals.

Relationship with Other Factions:

  • Magisters: The Divine Order occasionally collaborates with the Magisters when their goals align, but tension runs high between the two groups. The Magisters’ reliance on magic makes them a target of suspicion, and their reluctance to take harsher measures against Sourceweavers is seen as weakness by the Divine Order.

  • Sourceweavers: The Order views Sourceweavers as their ultimate enemy. They consider them dangerous and corrupt, capable of destabilizing the world with their unchecked power.

  • The Public: The Order is both feared and revered by common folk. While many see them as protectors against magical chaos, others view them as zealots whose methods often cause more harm than good.

Symbolism and Appearance:
The Divine Order’s emblem is a hammer striking a shattered crystal, symbolizing their mission to destroy the chaos they believe the Sourceweavers represent. Members typically wear red velvet and silver armor adorned with hammers, scales of justice, or sun motifs.

Key Objectives:

  • Eliminate all Sourceweavers and their sympathizers, or if not possible jail them and collar them with anti-source necklaces.

  • Expand the Order’s influence, rallying more people to their cause.

  • Maintain a strict code of discipline and order within their ranks to set an example of their ideals.
