Miruin was born in Niskerra as Rakar, a warbreed and disciple of Zhaine. He was given to an old lord who desired him for war and raiding against others- including the Valari.

He was sent away as a wergild to a grieving Valari lord- one Vaelindar, who was given him to take his life in return for a slain son as payment of a blood debt between the two families.

Instead, he was taken into Vaelindar's halls and claimed as Miruin, his new son. He, a prince and child of Valurn now, renounced Zhaine's will himself to pursue his own newfound duty under the Starwell.
