The Jadeacre Fiefs were, for much of the time following the Ascension, a disparate conglomeration of three separate nation-states -- the halfling Gardner family to the south, the gnomish Strongfeasts to the north, and the dwarven Lightblades in the Peaks of Chaos.
Following the surprise attack on their land by the Cantons, the Lightblades fled to the east with a proposition of mutual benefit to the others. Soon enough, the Jadeacre Fiefs combined into one massive agricultural paradise, with the Lightblades, Strongfeasts, and Gardners all working together to supply the Southlands with most of their grain, meat, and dairy.
The Southgate Harbor serves as a massive delivery port, trading with the nations to the south, while Port Windsweep to the north allows them to deal with the Cantons and the Shattered Scythe. Over the recent centuries, they have slowly expanded their reach to the east, claiming the Green Dagger and much of the Sandgrass Wildlands.
House Stafford and House Algova, thus far, seem content to let them prod, as Jadeacre land is widely regarded as the most fruitful and plentiful. Its people are characterized by an unmatched work ethic, as well as a ravenous desire for expansion -- there are some who believe it may be best to keep this in check, but for now the ruling houses of the Fiefs remain mostly in line.
Greenridge City is the most populous in all of the Southlands, and the wide and swift rivers heading from the Peaks of Chaos allow swift delivery from Riverside, Malardale, and Blackflats down to the Central Sea.
While the Cantons have evidently gotten away with their land grab, the Lightblades have certainly not forgotten it...
