The Sable Horizon Syndicate is a notorious maritime power based in the The Lewihbolan Republic, controlling the northern seas of the continent of Gyte. Initially a key component of the Mahutara Trade Federation, it became a splinter faction under Rear Admiral Abebe, who succumbed to the influence of the God of Greed, Qolijo. Despite the syndicate’s origins in greed and tyranny, its current members do not revere Qolijo, instead pledging allegiance to their mortal leadership. The organization maintains its influence through strategic monopolization of sea trade routes and enforcement of harsh taxation.
The Syndicate seeks:
Dominance of the Northern Seas: Enforce control over all maritime trade in the region.
Wealth and Power Consolidation: Amass vast riches and secure political leverage in the Lewihbolan Republic.
Expansion: Establish outposts in rival territories to cement their control over neighboring seas.
To achieve these goals, they impose strict tolls, operate an elite fleet of privateers, and bribe or coerce local governments into compliance.
Originally the Northern Fleet of the Mahutaran Trade Federation, the group’s transformation began when Rear Admiral Abebe was corrupted by Qolijo. Under Abebe’s leadership, the fleet levied exploitative taxes and oppressed the people of the Lewihbolan Republic. After Abebe and Qolijo’s destruction, Zorion Malgrave, a cunning and ruthless tactician, swiftly seized control of the Syndicate. Under Malgrave’s leadership, the group severed ties with the Federation and solidified its autonomy, turning from a trade fleet into a dominant maritime syndicate.
