Last we left off…
Following a night of rest, our efforts to support the resistance began in earnest. Enna Veyal—our contact within the Stonekeepers—offered us leads on Syndicate activity tied to a local merchant, Jorenn Cadmire, a man with a spotless reputation and a meticulous nature. Too spotless, perhaps.
🛠️ A New Ally... Sort Of
Before diving in, our alchemist spent the morning assembling a new assistant: PIP, a barely-sentient automaton with a curious vocabulary and questionable field etiquette. He may not be bright, but he’s functional. Mostly.
🕵️ Investigation: Cadmire’s Trading House
We split up—Laslyn and Amani approached Cadmire directly under the guise of interested buyers while our infiltrator (with PIP in tow) slipped into the back of the shop. Inside, they discovered a hidden compartment beneath a rug containing:
A coded Syndicate ledger
A set of signet rings bearing Syndicate symbols
A strange black vial of unknown liquid
A silver dagger pulsing with infernal energy—later identified as the Silver Dagger of the Hellbound Oath
The front of the shop appeared immaculate—too immaculate. Cadmire’s public face was clearly just a front.
🔥 A Sudden Turn
After regrouping, we returned to Enna with our findings. She was clearly shaken—this level of infiltration was deeper than expected.
Just as we began to make plans to pursue Cadmire’s northern warehouse, a villager rushed up to alert us:
Cadmire’s shop was on fire.By the time we arrived, it was a charred ruin. No bodies. No sign of Cadmire. No sign of his staff.
Worse yet, Laslyn—fresh from the river—reported spotting Cadmire fleeing town, heading toward the warehouse with an unknown companion.
⚠️ Current Status
The warehouse is likely on high alert.
The element of surprise is lost.
Whatever was happening inside Cadmire’s shop, it’s been burned away—but not before we found key evidence.
The Syndicate knows we’re coming.
