This small, unassuming sphere appears to be crafted from ordinary sand, its surface etched with intricate patterns charged with static electricity. Closer inspection reveals the magical fusion of sand and lightning. Created naturally during intense storms, these magical balls serve as temporary sanctuaries for Lightning Elementals seeking respite.
Capture Lightning Elemental: As an action, you can throw the Ball of Fulgurite Sand at a target Lightning Elemental within 20/60 feet. Make an improvized attack roll, using your Strength or Dexterity modifier.
On a hit, the Ball captures the Lightning Elemental, magically pulling it into the fulgurite-infused interior.
On a miss, the Ball drops somewhere near the target, determined by the DM.
The elemental can make a saving throw (DC determined by the DM) to resist capture.
On a failure, the elemental is captured within eventually finding comfort within the fulgurite.
On a success, the elemental breaks free, it may respond agitated and attack.
