Discord RP #008-009

In this Discord roleplay, the morning had already proven to be a little overwhelming for Rose and Thalga. They’d been woken earlier than expected by troubling news: an elemental storm had struck Sadbarad. Before they even had time to process it, “Professor” Askdyrnir had insisted on running them through another round of combat training, which didn’t do much to improve their mood. By midday, they had already faced the incident with Lizz, the chaos in the Ancient Vault, and Oyindamola’s sudden arrival—leaving them more than a little drained.

Before heading to Lumin Einar Giedensera’s mansion later that day, they decided to take a short detour to the Roaring Harbor. Finding a quiet, shaded spot along the beach, the pair finally had a chance to breathe. Thalga pulled out her Academy herbalism kit and started working on a mixture that felt noticeably stronger than the one she had tried earlier that morning....

After a grueling day filled with news of an elemental storm striking Sadbarad and exhausting combat training, Rose and Thalga sought respite at the quiet shores of Roaring Harbor. In the distance loomed Einar Giedensera's Mansion, an enigmatic sight where winter perpetually clung to the structure despite the blazing desert heat surrounding it.

As Thalga carefully brewed herbal remedies with her Herbalism kit, the ladies pondered the mysterious coldness emanating from Einar's Mansion. Their peaceful moment was interrupted by the muttered calculations of a stranger—a pouchfoot woman named Cellia, who stood studying the unusual weather patterns around the mansion with intense fascination.

Rose's curiosity led to an introduction, revealing Cellia to be an aspiring researcher working on an algorithm to predict elemental storms across the desert. Despite her scholarly pursuits, Cellia carried herself with the distracted air of someone whose mind constantly wandered between calculations and daydreams—particularly regarding Luxidor Junior, the charming head writer of The Roaring Lion newspaper.

Through their conversation, Cellia shared knowledge of the city, including the sealed Temple of Mortemus in the north—closed for six years following a mysterious raid.
Yet beneath her helpful exterior lay a deep insecurity about her work's value, feeling her storm-prediction model was too inaccurate to be useful to anyone.

Unfortunately, Thalga's words caused Cellia's enthusiasm to gradually give way to dejection. She departed feeling defeated, convinced her research would never amount to anything meaningful...

After her departure, Thalga mused that perhaps her own scholarly reputation had intimidated the young researcher, a common reaction among academics she claimed. Rose diplomatically suggested that Cellia's desert expertise might prove valuable for future adventures. With perfect timing, Thalga announced her herbal candies were ready, offering the sweet medicinal treats as a small victory after their day of larger uncertainties.
