The All Blade

A blade of three woods that created Helvegan, among other weapons. 

Alokia

Torin’s daughter. Was tasked with defending a shard of the Ithelion, and finding help from the lands in the North. Last seen sailing away on the Sequestered Sea.

Angelet “Aggie” Fields (Thedon)

Ward of Normandy. Met approximately 3 months prior to E1 events. Parents are dead from Glister OD. 14 years old. Ran away from her previous home and was on her own for some time before finding Normandy. Reacts negatively to Torin’s twilight magic. Button nose, small black eyes, hair in a bun. Revealed to be The Tangled One incarnate.

Angelos

The Keeper of Secrets for the Knights of Ithelias. Charged with defending and interpreting the Tome of Stars.

Antonia

Owned a farm near Malben with her husband Marcus. Their property was burned to the ground by an accidental fire caused by Zharl Huckley.

The Arbiter

Suspected title of the leader of the assassin’s guild. Was the one who issued the kill order against Phineas Moon.

The Arcanium

A mysterious order rumored to be based in or around the Gavran castle. All that is known about them is that they are steeped in deep knowledge. Was stationed at the clock tower in Gavra before being burned down. Shares a symbol with Yore and Gander, of the snake eating itself. Lately they have been studying the black glints provided by Yore and Gander. Another branch of the order is located in Piln.

Aris Lantrosa: A young woman who was abused as a child. She has turned into one of the most vicious blood sorcerers.

Art of Floral Cultivation

Book on harvesting and picking. Given to Bjorn by Normandy.

Arthas Ventrex Elutharis: The son of Ylvis Elutharis. He returned to the Shadowlands to kill his father.

Gavran guard who was with Wylan Velpa at the Arcanium after it was burned out. Died after he fell through the stairs while giving chase to the group.

A small fishing town on one of the smaller islands of the Shattered Isles. Run by the families Birken and Stock. Found ablaze as the group arrived at the beginning of Ep 14. 

Bitter Bick Bitters

Member of the Stalkers. Was part of the band that Whisper and Ernan were involved with before this campaign. Was healed of an arrow wound by Torin outside of Calgary.

The Black Queen

An unknown figure with links to the Stalkers. Wants the party dead.

The Black Worm

A mysterious creature from far to the West. Is it a child dragon? An elder beast? A being of madness? Found alone on a vessel by “Ilk.” It emits secretions that expand the mind. Torin experienced a vision of his past this way.

A former associate of Madam Iris and Whisper, used as a bouncer or security as needed. Was present when Iris and Whisper negotiated with Havel in Andros Port some years ago.

From Bjorn’s original village. Chief of the Shadowclaw clan. And Bjorn’s ex. A dark haired woman with a fair complexion and sharp features. Can hold her own against any of Norn’s warriors. Was left behind in Norn when the rest of the Nornians left. Suspectedly pregnant.

Cada’Vercia

The City of the Dead, in the middle of the Quiet Lands. Rumored to have a solarium deep within teeming with the souls of the dead, and just a thin veil separating it from the realm of death. Carved from jagged, black rocks.

Knight Reverend of the Grey Knights of Ithelias. An older, but still very capable man. Late 60’s, early 70’s. White beard, sinewy but strong. Remembers Bjorn’s people when they passed through after escaping Norn 25 years ago.

Calgary

A small town just east of the Wintere Woods that was razed by Palligref and two others of the Stygian Seven. He wielded a green light to make everyone turn on each other.

Caspian

Knight of Ithelias. A friendly, adventurous 24 year old man who spent an evening grilling Bjorn about his life in the archipelagos.

Cass

A squire of the Knights of Ithelias. She originally came from Eilinor 5 years ago. Her father was deep in the Thieves’ Guild there and taught her everything he knew in hopes that she would follow in his footsteps.

The Cataract

A denizen of the sewers and viaducts underneath Gavra. People who find themselves lost will either be helped or hindered depending on what the Cataract sees in them. Stories, legends, and warnings are told about the Cataract.

Cathis

A delicacy in Velkommen. Made from turning the animal’s anus into a stocking. 1 pepper heat. Has a snap to it.

Hidden caves deep in the mountains East of Gavra. 

The Chair of Thorns

The ceremonial seat of power in Norn. Hand-carved from a single, massive stump.

Charlie

A glister supplier in Gavra. The shop front is a small bazaar near the wharf district. Look for a door with smoke coming out and tell him you need to see the light. Looks like Harold Zeigler from Moulin Rouge.

Clot

Martin’s PC from Ep 5.5. Ran away during the events on the Shattered Isles. Stowed away on The Sarcoffner. Approached the party in The Raggedy Rat offering info about the mines. He’s near death from the Plague, he got it from a black glint during 5.5. After receiving the Juice, he was sent back to the Arcanium with the black glint and a letter from Brill for study.

Connor Fagen

The “ring leader” of the Stalkers incarcerated in The Reef. Often has messages for Whisper to pass along to the outside.

Bellhop at the Blooming Petal.

The Crystalline Order

A collective of wizards that have been appearing to the group, seemingly in response to any dealings they have with the Stygian Seven. Once after the massacre in Calgary, and then when they faced down Titus in Gavran castle’s throne room.

Fanatics dedicated to keeping the Dio Ostium shut. 

Dalia

Bjorn’s niece. Approximately 15 when Bjorn left New Norn. Ill with what they believe is Walking Rot. Possibly mid-20’s now, Trevor said at a later time, as she was “very young” when they left Norn.

Darkling

Creatures made of shadows. They’ve lost all physical form and eat light. Darklings didn’t start out as darklings. Th’Marck says their story is a sad one (see Shadowless).

Deathless Flame (Soul)

The Deathless Flame is the soul’s ability to live beyond death. Vorax gave men the will to live beyond death. If their will was strong and their soul’s selfless, they would rise as paragons of human might. If their wills were selfish, they would rise as a miasma of power to haunt the world of the living. A chartreuse flame created long ago by the Revenant. Emrys Valakar (Em-reez Vala-kar), or the Revenant, was a powerful necromancer on a distant land. Those who revered and served him called him “He who walks with death.” Unfortunately, though he could control death, he could not escape it. When the time for Demrys's death approached, he begged his gods to show him mercy, but his words fell on deaf ears. But Demrys was a cunning man who used the knowledge he gained over a lifetime of servitude to conduct terrible experiments with the sole aim of freeing his life from the cycle of the Gods. Having built one of the first soul forges of Nabell, Demrys used his own life as the catalytic fire to ignite the furnace. What he didn’t know was that the fire would ultimately consume him, leaving only his soul. Now, thousands of years later, that same flame has passed from host to host, granting everlasting life, while at the same time, allowing Demrys’s to live on.

Daughter of Ylvis. A proud Evenari who has only lived under the cloak of the shadowlands and the Valdhe, the False Moon.

The girl who was being sacrificed at the waygate in Ep 16. She’s a seamstress down by one of the wharfs. Whisper passively knows her.

Elos del Mortez

Knight of Ithelias and son of Knight Reverend Calem. A large man, bald with a full red beard. Prefers to use a bow in battle.

Elroy “Ego” Derger

PC played by Eli B. Member of the Stalkers. Was part of the band that Whisper and Ernan were involved with before this campaign. Was infected by the Plague when opening a barrel in Calgary, but was cured when Th’Marck drew the darkness out of him. This permanently shifted Ego’s alignment from Neutral to Neutral Good. His selfishness has gone, but he’s unbalanced. Was kicked out of the crew at the beginning of E5.

A large rock formation. A waterfall pours from the top and is considered sacred to the original inhabitants of Scarsden. Due to a trick of the light, the Abyssal Falls appear black with pinions of light.

One of three elder shamans in Norn prior to the attack.

Eth

Goddess of New Beginnings. Now known to be the newest incarnation of the goddess Sethis. In present times she is worshiped to keep away the Tangled One.

Evenari

The shadowfolk. Enari who are cursed to live in perpetual twilight. 

Evenfall

A realm separate from our own, but also the same. As if something has gone wrong. A domain created when Sethis fell. Somewhere between light and dark. In twilight.

Father Patches

A previously unknown figure whose name was invoked by Whisper upon entering Gavra. He’s the head bishop of the Church of Tides, the main temple to Eth in Gavra. A very much beloved figure in the community. Is also Brill’s grandpa. Is also the Hidden Father.

Not very appetizing, but it grows well in Tyve’s terrible climate. Think of a cross between potato, turnip, and chard. Grows upward like corn, but is a root vegetable.

When “god” or “goddess” is used with a lowercase “g,” it represents a being that ascended to godhood or demigodhood. While extremely powerful, they are rarely omnipotent and not nearly as powerful as the original Gods—with the exception of the Green-Eyed/Nameless God. 

Grey Knights of Ithelias

An ancient order of knights based in Tch’nev with roots going back to the Dragon Wars. They were the first mortals to bend knee to Sethis. They now defend the Tome of the Stars, the holy book of their new goddess Phaedras. They became a dying breed when most of their people left to try and reach the archipelagos around 25 years ago. The fate of that party remains a mystery.

Gyle Molberry

Not an elected official of Malben, just the guy who owns most of it. Not friendly, but very popular in town. A “likable ass.”

Also has the power to fix Normandy if he turns the book over to him, which Normandy declines.

Uncle to Vyr Zaphrune. Presumed dead after the shipwreck on Tyve. Vyrn now has his finger jewelry and cloak. Was a magic user, seen employing a signature purple arcane energy. Twin brother of Vyr’s mother. Took a blood oath with Vyr’s father for him to look after Vyr after her father’s death.

Ilferan

The ancient seafaring clans of the barbarians. Little is known about them, but they were a more peaceful, mystic tribe. Runic symbols at the obelisk of the Shattered Isles may be related to them somehow.

Ilk

The keeper of the Black Worm. Not his true name, but what we may call him. He believes he will meet the party again, many times. He is an “acolyte of a greater purpose.”

A fearsome sea creature who serves the Tangled One. Somehow related to the obelisk in Gavra. Silas seemed to summon the creature by using the dark scepter on the tower before the attack on Gavra.

Came to Tyve with Zandra as her bodyguard.

Letharus

Possibly a god or higher power to the Umtherans. Was once mentioned by Ildren when he warned Vyr of the intoxicating effects of her abilities.

Lifeless Blood

Blood given by Belgor Vrack, the Blood God. The blood does not sustain life, nor does it take life away. Those who are given the lifeless blood neither live nor die, but are bound to the Blood God and his insatiable hunger for death.  

Light Bender

Title held by the leader of the Arcanium. Was Phineas Moon, prior to his death. The title was given to Torin.

Maxis always wanted to be a horse rider, so that’s what he became. Being a soldier just pays the bills.

A man from the lands surrounding the Lighthouse of Piln, and is therefore recast. He is always accompanied by his panthex (a creature resembling a cross between a bear and a panther.) Wears a dark trench coat and top hat. Horse is named Lunis. Died at the beginning of Ep 10 following the battle in the Temple of Sethis in the Triune Mountains.

Piccolo

A young man, mid 20’s, that some of the party met at the Raggedy Rat. He is a rare success story of someone returning home from a stent at the Shattered Isles. Was there for 8 years to pay off his father’s debt. Was a barrel loader.

A secretive house of Gavra. They investigate illnesses, but not much more is known about them. Identifiable by their plague masks.

A figure in Tch’Nev history with a statue in the city. Appears to be a mortal man. Fighting against dragons wielding a great spear.

Assistant to Gyle Molberry. Became infected by the black mold from Malben’s tainted crops.

The rotlands under the Vang’Namar Plateau where Magda’Navaa’s younger form is.

A tavern in Gavra. Local pub in the lower districts. Good folk, good atmosphere. You don’t want the wings. They’re bat wings.

A mercenary of the Shadowed Dawn. Was sent to collect the party and had a face-off in Velkommen.

Recast (formerly Light-Washed)

A condition shared by people who spend a large portion of their lives under the Lighthouse of Piln. The light cast by the Ithelion causes their skin to take on a pale, blue hue. It is said that this is caused by a person’s soul being drawn out through their skin.

Silas Palligref

Captain in the Gavran Watch. Has a “history” with Whisper. At the end of Ep 1 he was inhabited by Aldarian Titus and became one of the Stygian Seven. Had managed to make himself an eminent advisor to Cassiandros before Titus jumped to the Marquis. Is now a reluctant companion of the group, first joining them as part of the caravan to Piln.

Slim

A citizen of Calgary who was left alive after Palligref’s attack. Found insane, he was struck down by a powerful mage who pulled themselves out of a shard of broken glass. The mage simply said Slim had remembered what must remain forgotten, and that they will be watching. Slim’s wife and daughter were later found sheltered in a well outside of town.

Slip

A small man is first seen in Normandy’s past. Horazio’s record-keeper. Knows Normandy is a fake name, and seemingly knows more about his past too.

Stewards of Gavra

Formed ~700 years ago on the mainland before settling on Scarsden ~325 years ago. Ruled by Marquis Selendra Cassiandros, they defend the archipelago from the Plague. Very organized, containing the House of the Ledger and the House of the Liege. They rule all islands SE of the mainland. Worship the gods Eth, Elendra, and Mathias primarily. Also extremely reverent to the ocean. Have the strongest military force. Extremely xenophobic and magic is forbidden.

Stilt

A former associate of Madam Iris and Whisper, used as a bouncer or security as needed. Was present when Iris and Whisper negotiated with Havel in Andros Port some years ago.

Stygian Seven

Seven knights in obsidian armor allied with the Nameless God. The armor apparently outlives (perhaps feeds off of) its wearer. Existed as far back as the Dragon Wars, as observed by one of Torin’s visions. The armor seems to be controlled or held together by a form of animated shadow. The group is led by Aldarian Titus. Presently all are trapped in the Dark Scepter.

Syl’Vyr

Vyr’s grandmother. Was believed to have been exiled for having the same powers Vyr has. In reality she was assassinated for political reasons.

A Widow of the Stalkers.

The Tangled One

A goddess of the sea, is depicted as a beautiful woman with flowing hair. Is, more or less, the opposite of Eth. Known to call out to those who are unworthy, leading them to their death in the water. Originally one of the party that accompanied Zyltrix on their quest for the Ithelion, who were abandoned by him.

Member of the Stalkers, a lieutenant. Was part of the band that Whisper and Ernan were involved with before this campaign. A paladin-style fighter. Is eaten by a plaque rat

A short goblin-like creature. Has a blue hue similar to Torin with antennae on his forehead. He is supposed to be guarding what’s in Torin’s box, and has been following the party since they found it. Has been guarding the box since it was made, but doesn’t remember who made it. Is repelled by glint.

Holy book of the goddess of stars, Phaedras. A single, physical manuscript hidden deep within the keep at Tch’nev and defended by the Knights of Ithelias. The hallway leading to its chamber is lined with cells filled with men who went mad trying to read it. It is said the light of the book will go out if the Knights fall.
