The Spottdrossel or “Mockingbird” Is a Generation 6 special operations Replika constructed on the Kolibri frame, only recently pushed into early field-testing trials. Unlike their cousins, however, they do not have the ability to use Bioresonance to affect the minds of others. Instead, through the use of a highly specialized Basilisk module, they are able to use bioresonance to bend light around them in order to conceal themselves, at least under the visible spectrum of light. The Kolibri Replika might be able to use their bioresonance to affect the minds of others in order to make them not be seen, but Spotdrossels have the edge in that the Basilisk module works at any range, whereas the Kolibri method is limited by range. Being in the testing phase, though, the technology isn’t perfect. High risk, but high reward. Their cloaking capabilities aren’t useful in combat, since it requires active concentration to keep up.
They are additionally equipped with a Songbird module, enabling them to collate voices they are exposed to, processing them down to raw data. Limited exposure results in short snippets. Moderate exposure results in manipulation of vocal patterns. Extended exposure to a subject they bond to can result in an uncanny copy.

They are also equipped with the Basilisk Module, a highly complex piece of experimental technology. Components are very hard to get replacements for, and repairs have to be done by a specialist. It works by utilizing bioresonance to bend light around the Replika, only leaving a shimmer that is visible under light and at closer ranges. Due to the nature of the module, the user has to maintain full concentration to maintain the bioresonant field. The moment concentration is lost [I.E. when entering a fight or being struck by an enemy]] the field goes away and they become visible again.
The invisibility doesn’t do much to stop the Spottdrossel from being seen/detected by bioresonant units or individuals utilizing thermal optics, but it works remarkably well against regular ground units. The invisibility field can obscure them from thermal vision as well, since it bends thermal light as well, but due to the Basilisk module’s tendency to overheat, their thermal signature can become visible after only around twenty minutes of use. Their shimmer is also more visible on thermal optics. The shimmer becomes more obvious the closer you are to the Replikant. Undetectable at 20 feet, questionable at 10-15 and fairly easy to detect at the point blank to 8-foot range. The detection range increases when using Thermal optics, due to the more obvious shimmer.
Spotdrossels are incredibly shy and anti-social Replikas, preferring to keep to themselves. They despise confrontations, and highly social settings. This isn’t to say they avoid socialization altogether, though. They form a tight-knit network with their Sisters, constantly exchanging information and collecting data, whether it be regular Facility drama or work-related. This network of ‘gossip’ can extend outside of their own Cadre, and is the main reason why Spottdrossels search for friendship in the first place.
They have incredibly high-functioning imaginations. Information above all else, even if it’s not entirely useful information, such as Gossip. They just like knowing; and when they don’t know about something, it frustrates them. They absolutely despise eye contact, and being stared at in general. A poorly-adjusted Spottdrossel can regress into a tantrum after so little as 1 interaction, but having sister units, friends or a mentor around can help younger, less attuned Spottdrossels control their emotions.
The reason for this is largely due to the voices they hear when they’re being stared directly at, or maintaining eye contact. In combat, this serves as an alarm, almost as a detection warning system, but it can prove to be detrimental when not on active duty, if there are personnel around that aren’t aware of how to act around a Spottdrossel.
Playful, Mischievous and proud, SPTR thrive under the praise of a job well done. As such, they will pursue any and all means to complete their orders, even to their own detriment. They can often be found listening to music, maintaining their tools and weapons, reading in isolation, or playing relatively harmless practical jokes.
Spotdrossells will frequently make use of their Basilisk module to help regulate the voices they deal with or even silence them entirely. This means that the Spottdrossel might use their invisibility as a comfort tool if they feel overwhelmed.
Their highly sensitive reactions can cause a sense of jumpiness when off-duty, such as fidgeting, over-reacting to small stimuli, or being overwhelmed by touch. This can also explain their blunt manner of speaking, leading to others viewing them as impolite or rude.
