ZARANTYR — Mid-Winter (Month 1)

• 11 Zarantyr — Heartforge · Sovereign Host (Onatar). Day of competition at the forge; communities gather around the smithy while craftsmen work dawn to dusk. Creations judged the following day.

• 14 Zarantyr — Rebirth Eve · Silver Flame. The Purified new year, on the winter solstice. The faithful hold spiritual vigil through the longest night.

OLARUNE — Late Winter (Month 2)

• 9 Olarune — Crystalfall · Secular (Sharn). Remembrance of the floating tower sabotage that destroyed Lower Dura. Ice sculptures are crafted and thrown into the Dagger River.

• 18 Olarune — Bright Souls' Day · Silver Flame. Celebration of every follower who died fighting evil. No artificial or magical light sources permitted.

• 20 Olarune — The Day of Mourning · Pan-Khorvaire Remembrance. Anniversary of the destruction of Cyre (994 YK). Cyran survivors gather to remember their lost kingdom through stories, songs, and dances.

• Late Zarantyr–Early Olarune — The Void of Taratai · Path of Light. Five-day mourning period for the kalashtar commemorating the destruction of Taratai's line.

THERENDOR — Early Spring (Month 3)

• 1 Therendor — The Sovereign New Year · Sovereign Host. Full congregation offering honoring each member of the Host and asking blessing for the coming year.

• 3 Therendor — Frostbreak · Sovereign Host (Kol Korran). New-year markets and sales after the winter. A day of pranks and games in urban areas.

• 5 Therendor — Tirasday · Silver Flame. Celebrates the planting season and the birth of Tira Miron. A popular marriage date among the Purified.

• 7 Therendor — Fortunetide · Sovereign Host (Olladra). Gift-giving holiday; presents often purchased during Frostbreak markets. Omens about early spring abound in northern Karrnath.

• 15 Therendor — Sun's Blessing · Sovereign Host (Dol Arrah). Day of peace and reconciliation. During the Last War, most armies observed a ceasefire—except Thrane's attack on Starilaskur in 916 YK. In Karrnath, gifts exchanged between former rivals.

EYRE — Mid-Spring (Month 4)

• 11 Eyre — Initiation Day · Silver Flame. Anniversary of the priesthood declaring independence from the Sovereign Host. Groundbreaking on new cathedrals and seminary graduations are traditionally scheduled for this day.

• 15 Eyre — Thronehold · Pan-Khorvaire Secular. Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Thronehold (996 YK), ending the Last War. A new holiday still forming its traditions.

DRAVAGO — Late Spring (Month 5)

• 6 Dravago — Baker's Night · Silver Flame. Families share pastries and confections. Popular with children; origins unknown even to the Cathedral of the Flame.

• 26 Dravago — Aureon's Crown · Sovereign Host (Aureon). Celebration of knowledge; elders share wisdom with the young. Traditional day for graduations, accolades, and coronations across all Five Nations.

• 28 Dravago — Promisetide · Silver Flame. The Purified honor the Flame for the promise of paradise and acknowledge the Sovereign Host for creating the world. Considered offensive by non-Purified.

NYMM — Early Summer (Month 6)

• 12 Nymm — Brightblade · Sovereign Host (Dol Dorn). Prizefights, wrestling, archery contests, and jousts across every nation. In Karrnath, a youth's Brightblade performance influences their military service placement.

• 21 Nymm — First Dawn · Silver Flame (Thrane only). Anniversary of the Church assuming control of Thrane's government in 914 YK.

LHARVION — Mid-Summer (Month 7)

• 14 Lharvion — Silvertide · Silver Flame. The highest holy day of the faith. Commemorates the sacrifice of the couatl and the entry of the Silver Flame into Eberron. Cathedrals fill to overflowing.

• 23 Lharvion — The Race of Eight Winds · Secular (Sharn). Annual aerial race through the spires of Dura Quarter. Eight creatures, eight jockeys, draws tourists and gamblers from across Khorvaire.

BARRAKAS — Late Summer (Month 8)

• 4 Barrakas — The Hunt · Sovereign Host (Balinor). A dangerous beast is released into the city depths; hunters compete for a 500 gp purse. In rural communities, competitive hunts for the most impressive game.

• 9 Barrakas — Victory Day · Silver Flame. Commemorates the end of the Silver Crusade against lycanthropy (882 YK). Children reenact battles; adults attend sermons on the purge's lessons and costs.

• 25 Barrakas — Fathen's Fall · Silver Flame (Sharn). Commemorates a Flame priest martyred while exposing lycanthropes. Causes tension with the shifter community.

RHAAN — Early Autumn (Month 9)

• 9 Rhaan — Boldrei's Feast · Sovereign Host (Boldrei). Celebration of community; the wealthy throw grand parties. Traditional day for elections and government appointments across the Five Nations.

SYPHEROS — Mid-Autumn (Month 10)

• 1 Sypheros — The Ascension · Silver Flame. Remembrance of the sacrifice of Tira Miron. Blessing ceremonies at all cathedrals; the faithful seek ways to contribute to their community.

• 18–19 Sypheros — Wildnight · Dark Six (The Fury). Emotions run high; impulse control runs low. Raucous revelry fills the streets. Riots, brawls, and crimes of passion are common. A countercultural event especially popular with youth.

• 25 Sypheros — Saint Valtros's Day · Silver Flame. Commemorates the birth of the first paladin called to serve the Flame. Marked by brief prayers and services.

ARYTH — Late Autumn (Month 11)

• 11 Aryth — Ripeseed · Sovereign Host (Arawai). Harvest festival; communities give thanks for the bounty that will sustain them through winter. Some make offerings to the Devourer on the 12th to ward off storms.

• 24 Aryth — Rampartide · Silver Flame. Day of fasting and repentance. "Make thyself a bastion, a rampart against wickedness." Children, the sick, and the elderly give up favorite foods instead.

VULT — Early Winter (Month 12)

• 26–28 Vult — Long Shadows · Dark Six (The Shadow). Shortest days and longest nights of the calendar year. Three nights when dark magic dominates. Most people stay indoors; minions of darkness emerge. Mabaran manifest zones grow in strength, and supernatural forces slip more easily into the material plane.

• 27 Vult — Khybersef · Silver Flame. "Khyber's Eve." The bonds holding Bel Shalor in Flamekeep are at their thinnest. The Purified spend the night in intense prayer. Many quests and crusades begin on this date.

DARK SIX LITURGICAL SEASONS

Each season is eight weeks long. The religious new year corresponds with 1 Zarantyr.

DARK SIX WEEKLY ASSOCIATIONS

SOVEREIGN BOOK OF SEASONS

The Sovereign Host maintains a rotating sixteen-day liturgical cycle: one day for each of the nine Sovereigns, one for each of the six Dark Six, and a sixteenth day for the pantheon as a whole. This cycle runs continuously, independent of the seven-day week, and determines the scheduling of minor rites and wedding dates.

ALTERNATE CALENDARS

The Qabalrin Wheel (Blood of Vol): Thirteen months; includes Crya (the lost 13th moon, associated with the Mark of Death) between Vult and Zarantyr. 998 YK = 2398 FH. Major observances: Sacrament of Blood (irregular) and Revelations Day (13 Crya).

The Blade Calendar (Lord of Blades): Moons named by annual pronouncements. Blade Communions quarterly: Olarune (Sentinel), Dravago (Handling), Rhaan (Scribing), Vult (Warding). 998 YK = First Year of Thirteen Blades.

The Path of Light Calendar (Kalashtar): 67 five-day cycles per year. Each ancestor quori has five Days of Remembrance. The Void of Taratai (five days) falls at the turn of Zarantyr/Olarune.

The Aereni Calendar: Overlapping cycles of tuernai (3-day units), luenirai, ruelnai, and nuerlnirai. Practically unreadable to outsiders. Holidays vary by family and center on ancestors' deathdays.

The Riedran Calendar (Path of Inspiration): Lunar, named similarly to Galifar's. Monthly celebrations of thanks at each full moon. The Feast of the Founding occurs annually at Therendor's new phase in Therendor.
