Spell Description:

With this spell, you can create a portal capable of traversing large distances.

To create a portal, you spend 10 minutes enchanting a portal entrance, which can be any size from a 5 foot radius to a 20 foot radius. A portal entrance can be a doorway or an archway, or drawn unto a surface with chalk, blood, charcoal, or chiseled into place, etc. When you finish creating the shape of the portal, you must set a trigger for it’s activation if you do not wish it to always be active. It can be activated by touching a magical sigil, repeating a passphrase, drawing a symbol on the portal’s inactivated surface, an enchanted switch, or any other trigger your DM allows, such as casting a specific spell at the portal as a form of password. Casting Identify on a portal made in this way reveals its trigger if it is physically linked to the portal.

A portal must have an exit point, or another entrance that is the same in shape and size as the first entry. You create it in a similar way, although you may choose to have it be activatable from one side.

A portal made in this way lasts for 1 month, unless it is dispelled or the structure it is built upon is destroyed. A portal can be made permanent if this spell is cast on it at least once every 7 days, for a year. If the portal moves, it is dispelled.

You can recast a dispelled portal, if it’s surface is still intact, over 10 minutes by casting this spell. In doing so, the portal retains the properties it was given when it was originally created.

When a creature or object passes into an active portal, they are instantly transported to the other side.
