Larelim

Larelim

“Aerevir” in Alder, "Feather-folk" to some.

Long ago, the Larelim were forged by the divine gods. They natively live among the canopies of the great trees, giving them a strong innate connection to the divine. Sometimes they are mistaken for angels, but they are a kind of beastfolk. Their songs, gently filling the air, can be heard as one ascends many of the worlds Great Trees.

The Larelim people are hybrid creatures, born of the primordial pool. They are mostly human in overall form, but share some birdlike features, and are covered in feathers where hair would normally appear. Upon their back, they have two massive wings, which enable them to fly. They have mostly featherless faces. Their heads, upper torso, wings, and legs are feathered thickest. Larelim have short claws or talons, like that of a hawk or a raven, but otherwise have humanoid hands and feet. Their feathers can range in color from a cream white, to browns, to a deep night black. Their eyes are normally a dull gold, a pale blue, a rich brown, white, or hazel colored.
