Located across the southwestern coast of the fallen Kingdom of Galdoria, the Sirendian Isles rest between the Eredian Gulf to the east and the Greymist Sea to the west.
In the golden days of old, the Sirendian Isles thrived as a vital trade hub, nestled between the lands of Galdoria and the wealth of Mytos. Their deep harbors welcomed ships from every coast, their markets gleamed with foreign goods, and their towns grew fat on the spoils of commerce.
But when the Kingdom of Galdoria fell and the southern trade collapsed in the wake of plague and shadow, the lifeblood of the isles was severed.
As coin grew scarce and foreign ships stopped coming, the Sirendians turned inward, desperate to hoard what little wealth remained. Rivalries erupted into open war, with once-loyal merchant families raising private fleets and sacking neighbouring ports.
Today, the isles are a fractured mosaic of small ports and coastal towns, scattered across windswept cliffs and sea-battered coasts.
Despite the decay, a trickle of trade still flows through the isles—smugglers, independents, and bold merchants willing to risk the storms and politics for a chance at profit. And where trade flows, so too does intrigue, danger, and the promise of forgotten treasure.
Power in the Sirendian Isles now lies in the hands of a loose collection of warlords, privateers, and cutthroat merchants, collectively known—often with scorn—as the Penny Barons. Each commands a few ships, a harbour, and a dwindling hold over a desperate population.
