The Quartermaster is the keeper of the party’s wealth, equipment, and shared resources.
Where others fight, explore, or negotiate, the Quartermaster records, accounts, and reminds.
Without a Quartermaster, loot is forgotten, gold splits become unclear, and valuable items vanish into memory. With one, the party knows what it owns, where it is stored, and who can claim it.
Maintain a complete record of the party’s acquired wealth.
Track all loot recovered during adventures
Record:
The date the item was acquired
The item or treasure
Who received it, if distributed
Ensure gold, valuables, and equipment are clearly accounted for
Oversee the fair and transparent handling of party loot.
Track how gold and treasure are split
Periodically remind the party of:
Unclaimed loot
Items that may be especially useful to specific characters
Ensure all party members are aware of available resources
Even with a Quartermaster, each player is still responsible for their own character inventory.
Manage all shared or stored equipment.
Maintain the party’s Group Inventory / Storage
Track where shared items are kept
Ensure important items can be located quickly when needed
You gain the following benefits as the Quartermaster:
Item Appraisal
You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to Recall Knowledge checks related to items, equipment, trade goods, or valuables.
Loot Identification
You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to Identify Magic checks involving items recovered as loot by the party.
Spacious Pouch
You have in your possession a Spacious Pouch (Type 1)
The Quartermaster is expected to:
Keep loot records clear and up to date
Maintain transparency in treasure distribution
Prompt the party when valuable items go unused or unclaimed
Support smooth, drama-free resource management
The Quartermaster does not decide who should receive an item — only ensures that everyone knows what is available.
The Quartermaster does not hoard wealth.
They preserve order, ensure fairness, and keep the party grounded in practical reality.
Gold uncounted is gold lost.
An item forgotten might as well never have been found.
The Quartermaster keeps the party honest —
and prepared.
Possession is not wealth.
Accounting is.
