The Second War of the Western Axis

The renewed Korinthian Empire declared war on the Dominion of Man on Sentember 9th of 718GE by assaulting and capturing the Dominion capital of Deorum and subsequently renaming it to Korinthos.

The war reached a stalemate in the winter of 718GE which has persisted into present day. The Korinthians had seen great success by their innovative implementation of Portalmancy but their advantage has proven ineffective in crossing the Ivarian Mountains at the Northern Pass. This is due to the Watchers whose keep rests above the pass. Their order has employed an anti-magical artifact to disrupt any portalmancy or teleportation in or around the pass.

Many attempts have been made by the Korinthians to teleport across the mountain range at other points. The Silversand Triad have laid claim to all territory east of the mountain range that would serve as suitable staging ground and have explicitly forbade the Empire from utilizing their lands to move troops.

The Empire has also attempted a direct assault through the pass, but Dominion is greatly fortified on the opposite side and has easily repelled the few Korinthian assaults. The Imperator also inquired about leveraging the Korinthian Navy to attempt a naval assault into the bay of St. Thomas but were thwarted by Federation ships which preserve the peace in the name of commerce, threatening to cut off either nation from trade if they should engage in hostility. Furthermore the Dominion Navy is newer and more numerous than the nascent Korinthian fleet.

As a result both the Paragon and the Emperor have been attending peace talks in the hallowed halls of the Watcher's Keep in a begrudging spirit. These talks have been unsuccessful for several months.
