The Duke of Green Waters has been poisoned and is gravely ill. His chevaliers, mounted knights renowned for their wisdom and bravery, have set off to find those responsible and avenge their Duke. The valley, once so peaceful, nestled between the Grasp and the Atraxian mountains, has become incredibly dangerous and the people turn to heroes like you.

Speaking of, you are first level heroes who have come to the Duchy in search of glory and gold. Perhaps you know your fellow adventurers, maybe even you have worked together* before. That is for you to decide.
You ride now to Parigi, the knight's fortress outside the Duke's estate. There you will receive a quest to assist the village of Lorient, which has been besieged by a necromancer working for the rogue Summoner Marlowe--a death knight of the first war. Every night the dead rise from the beach and march on the idyllic village. The denizens of Lorient fight for their lives every night against the horde, desperate for the dawn, but they cannot hold out for much longer. It falls to you to find this necromancer, defeat him, and track down his evil master.
