The PC focuses on Fulvia; Maximum RP 5
Research Checks: DC 18 Occultism (to understand Fulvia’s theories and motives), DC 20 Diplomacy (to empathize with Fulvia’s situation), or DC 22 Deception (to identify with Fulvia’s methods and her eccentricities)
2 RP: Fulvia Nostraema, a half-elven woman, was an astronomer who spent many years working at a renowned school in the Thigas Domains of Eirendor before traveling to Pallasia on an extended visit with Paracount Cassian Valthrus. During this time, she authored a controversial essay titled “The Sacred Embrace of Nothingness.”
4 RP: The Sacred Embrace of Nothingness explored the religious practices of the Tenebrous Covenant, a sect devoted to the Nihilith. The PCs also learn that Cassian Valthrus had Fulvia committed to the Sanctum of Mercy near Altoria after she suffered a mental breakdown and attempted to set the manor ablaze.
8 RP: Fulvia had a son named Anitoli, and Cassian confided to the Sanctum's doctors that Fulvia had smothered him during her psychotic episode. No records detailing the fate of Anitoli’s body can be found.
10 RP: Information to be rewarded during next rest within the manor.
10 RP: The PC experiences a dream revealing Fulvia’s torrid affair with Cassian during her time in the Thigas Domains. They exchanged inscribed rings, but the relationship soured over a heated argument about who should possess a rare artifact known as the starless scope. Later, she arrived at Valthrus Manor with her son, using her knowledge of Cassian’s secrets to blackmail him into granting her access to his library and other resources, including the starless scope and the Void Mirror, for her own research. The dream concludes with Fulvia’s conviction that the world would soon end, devoured by a vast “blackened star” as part of a cosmic rite orchestrated by the Tenebrous Covenant. This research unlocks the topics of the Tenebrous Covenant, the starless scope, and the Void Mirror.
Additionally, the PC senses the location of Fulvia’s inscribed ring and knows that whoever wears it will gain a supernatural ward against Cassian’s spirit.
