Eryndur’s Watch

Perched high in the jagged peaks near the Frozen Coast, Eryndur’s Watch is an ancient elven monastery that predates human settlement in Eirendor. Its isolated location and the icy fens surrounding it have left the monastery largely forgotten, save for whispers among scholars and adventurers. Legends say the elves built Eryndur’s Watch to safeguard knowledge of glacial magic and maintain a vigil over ancient, buried powers tied to the very land itself.

The monastery is named after Eryndur, an elven sage said to have forged a pact with the spirits of winter to protect Eirendor from a long-forgotten calamity. Though abandoned, the icy halls are rumored to be haunted by spectral guardians, often referred to as iceghosts, who strike fear into even the bravest explorers. Some tales also speak of dragons that occasionally circle the peaks, as if drawn to the latent power within.

Few venture to Eryndur’s Watch, and even fewer return. The jagged trails leading to the monastery are fraught with peril, including deadly avalanches, biting winds, and strange, unnatural cold. Yet, the promise of lost elven lore, magical relics, and secrets of the frost draws those willing to risk everything.
