The Session starts in the aftermath of a fight against a mimic, shaped like a chest. To (almost) everyone's surprise Malum climbs out of the mimic corpse completely unscathed, he refuses to elaborate. The party starts explaining to Malum what he missed. Malum seems enthusiastic to explore the caverns and cure Gearspen of the boiling plague.

Whilst exploring the underground, the group stumbles upon what seems to be an old forgotten library of sorts, guarded by very old guard automatons. Caillte disables them with ease after which the party starts rummaging through the shelves and chests looking for information on the boiling plague. Caillte finds a journal describing someone's attempt to cure the boiling plague, their attempts seem promising and they seem to have gotten quite far. A potential cure is now within reach.

The party decides to explore the caves further, thinking there might be more clues around. After a short struggle with doors, the group fights a large fungus in a brawl which nearly takes Zygomatic's life (again) after which they are brought back by Malum (again). Zygomatic isn't too happy about that.
