The city of Equinox is the placid jewel of the Twilight Court, and the home of the Archfey.

In the centre of a great lake, calm and still, Equinox is a city in several parts. On the surface, houses, shops and manors float on huge, solidly-built rafts of hundreds of logs. These rafts are bound together and connected by still more platforms to create avenues that bob gently in the evening air. Magical lights string from the buildings to add a merry atmosphere to the lakeside town.

Rising out of the water are the tops of towers, their peaks adding a decorative punctuation to the architecture. Few know how or when so many towers came to be built up from the bottom of a lake, but their purpose and ownership vary - a number of them serving as apartment complexes, each denizen living further and further below the water's surface. As the level of the lake varies from time to time, the relative height of these towers can vary.

Finally, swimming down amongst this forest of towers, merlights illuminate a sizable population of water-dwelling Fey - merfolk, water sprites and more - who live and work beneath the quiet bustle of the city above. Walking around the surface town, it's quite common to see a figure dive off the side of the street, bags tightly sealed, to make a delivery below the water.

The castle of Twilight stands impressively over the city of Equinox, a beautiful structure of dark glass, thick and opaque, promising secrets and mystery within. It too floats on the surface, a feat of engineering truly Fey in its defiance of basic physics.

Guests from afar may arrive at Equinox via the teleportation circle, which is situated in a large glass domed structure, elevated a few stories up to give the newcomer a truly awe inspiring first view of the city, with the castle looming large in their vision.
