It is said that during the Decline of the Eilvalorian Kings princes constructed vast treasure vaults hidden underground in the most remote locations of Eilvalor. Also living during that time was a pirate and treasure hunter named Carmelo. He learned of these vaults and dedicated his life to hunting them out and plundering their contents. He boasted often when in his cups that he’d found and secured every last one, though he never offered any proof.
Year after year, he continued. He never appeared to age a day.
On the day, the hour, the very instant, the last Eilvalorian king died, so too did Carmelo.
It is said that he buried his prized treasure and a map to the vaults in the foothills of the Agermount.
