Bump: Spend 1 Focus to bump this die up one number.
Success: Counts as 1 Success to overcoming a Skill Challenge.
Critical: You have a hunch that might lead you to another clue or additional information.
A Player rolls Deduce to find any fingerprints on a murder weapon.
A Player rolls Deduce to figure out who the footprints in the mud belong to.
A Player rolls Deduce to determine how long a house has not been in use for.
A Player rolls Deduce to see if a character has not been sleeping well.
After the players enter a messy room, the Conductor may have them roll Deduce to systematically go through the mess to find what they are looking for.
The hunch from a Critical can be a simple nudge towards a new lead. It can be a hunch that the Player should check the drawers nearby. It could be an instinctual feeling to go in a particular direction.
If you did not account for Criticals in your scenario, you can improvise finding some extra loot like money or Gear.
