The ultimate symbol of power and authority among the Aatxi is a long, flowing braid. From their first battle, they tie their hair into a braid. If an Aatxi is defeated in battle they cut it. In matters of war, Aatxi with the longest braids are heeded with the highest reverence. Given their long lifespans, their hair can reach tremendous lengths. It's said that the greatest warrior had to loop their braid twice.
