Known colloquially as Ferning or Ferni; They are the people of Aulferna, realmstar of infernal fire. They are the Eldar race of their realmstar.

Calling themselves Shaitaan in their tongue, they have taken on distinct physical characteristics like horns, long tails, and sometimes scales. Not to be confused with Draikir.

Shaitaan are not native to Nhera, but rather a proximal Realmstar. By a turn of fate, their world was connected to Nhera during the dark days and some Shaitaani found their way there; Discovering a realm replete with greenery and gardens the likes of which their fiery gazes have never beheld before.

Chosen Destroyers

Infernal aether has a turbulent influence on people connected to it and Aulfernan history is littered in conflict. But given the vast array of people inhabiting it, Shaitaan are no strangers to working alongside those different from them. Infernal influence, similar to the demonic, lends itself to destruction and they've seen their cities and lands rent asunder more than most, making them a people with unique perspective on the cycle of death and rebirth.

Defiant People.

Shaitaan were among the earliest beings to appear on Aulferna, though were not the first. Demonic forces have a strong influence on infernal realms and many ancient entities have tried to turn Shaitaani into a force of destruction. While every individual is free to make their own choices, Shaitaani have remained largely disinterested in invading other realms, preferring to manage their unstable affairs at home first and maybe quell a whispering demon lord or two.

Home of Mine.

Shaitaan are bound to their home realmstar. When they perish, they awaken in flames back in their realm. Near-death can see an unfocused or very determined Shaitaan sitting between worlds. An inspired individual could find a way to bind their soul to a new realm and make it their home through complex, magical ritual.
